We got a contender

Beez was a bit of a head case. Story was during end of Sr year at BSU, game starting vs Miami OH, he mouthed off to Ron Harper (the Senior) about who should be the real MAC POY. Harper looked at him and said something to the effect of " ok....game on"....Harper goes off for triple double, 38 points, 19 rebounds and 12 assists. Shut Beez up before halftime. (even though I think BSU actually won the game in OT).
He always seemed out of place playing for Keady. Not sure he would have faired any better with RMK.
Harper was underrated. Heard a discussion while watching an NBA game with my son about the best backcourts of all time, and he asked if Michael ever played with a good PG. I mentioned Harper, as a really good player, but maybe not a great true distributing PG. But, if you were picking a backcourt for a 2 on 2 game, what backcourts would you have that would beat Michael and Ron Harper? I think the discussion may have been best shooting backcourts and for that I don't think you beat Klay and Steph.

Can you not have a discussion about basketball without being a cocksucker?
And Matt Nover, Alford, Jadlow, Meijer, Eyl, Sloan…those guys coming to IU now or PU?
Such a snowflake.

You said you were a wait and see guy this year. You know that most people would think that means waiting for more than 1 exhibition game, right?

But, you're pathological and just can't help yourself.

You also said we needed to "just win, baby." IU did that, on the road no less, and you won't even acknowledge it.

Again, because you are pathological.

two terms I can't wait to fall out of the current vernacular: snowflake and flowers (as in, give him his flowers!).... two things I used to like! That is all... oh wait: get off my lawn!

Triggered!

I'm kidding. I feel like we've interacted enough now I can make that joke.

Sisley picked IU. Not sure if he fits your criteria or not, but he's white?! Purdue doesn't have any white role players coming in now until 2026. Galloway seems like a white kid from Indiana. Leal...is he white? His hair confuses me. Cupps isn't from Indiana, but he's a fairly talented white kid, who plays like he didn't have a shot clock in high school, and had good coaching... Goode, he's extra white with his ginger hair.

What are you even talking about any more?

The not-so-subtle shot at Woody being you know what. I missed it the first time.

Harper's knees were shot by the time he paired up with MJ. A young healthy Harper paired with MJ would have been unstoppable. Klay and Steph may be better shooters, but getting to the rim, and as defensive guards, young Harp and MJ were monsters.

Pippen has turned out to be a bit of a tool as a human being. But at his prime...on both ends of the court, scary. The defense the late 80s Pistons and early 90s Bulls played was smothering for the NBA. All of that has been engineered out of the game now. Those series between Pistons/Bulls late 80s into early 90s were fierce. Pure hatred between the two teams as well. And it was personal...Isiah vs Jordon. Zeke always felt that Jordon stole the Chicago love away from him.

Being from MC, I watched him, and Delray Brooks all through their High School careers. He actually made a statement for the local Newspaper, back when such a thing existed, that he should have gone to Indiana. Thing is, Knight would have lost it with Palombizio's dad. The old man lived vicariously through young Danny. Dad wanted Keady to feature Danny in his offense.

helicopter parents were not going to work in Bob Knight's world. Would not have lasted one season. my humble opinion.

I’m talking about recruiting culture and guys that fit a system.
Race doesn’t matter…insert Chris Reynolds, Meeks, AJ Moye..

Win what?? Exhibition?
We need to win during the season. Was shooting not a concern last year? Woody restructured entire roster and it looks like this is still an issue. Is it a skill set? Or is our scheme that’s an issue?
My guess we will be an average at best shooting team this year.

That's true. I think Isiah and Dumars was one of the best backcourts ever too, but short... what was Dumars 6', 6'2"? Not many small backcourts like that. If we're going 2 on 2, Magic and Byron Scott would be a pretty good one too.

Actually I wouldn’t unless he he followed up with missed NCAA tourney. We all were guilty of this with Crean.

Again, I doubt that to be the case. Painter actually did something to that effect ten or so years ago. Had his Baby Boilers get waxed by VCU, a play in winner and followed it up with like three seasons of "Johnson Ball". Maybe that's before you became this enamored with Painter / PU.

Again not enamored…if you liked the roster Woody built or the program his building that’s fine. I prefer to build it a different way. I respect how Painter has done it.
