We are close

TJD's 2nd year is Woodson's absolute ceiling.

Maybe we are "close" to that...and if that season would be an example of IU's basement, and not ceiling, we'd be having a very different conversation regarding IU basketball.

23-12
12-8
No conference tournament championship
Bad performance and loss in round of 32

When THAT is your ceiling...and you MIGHT be close to getting up near THAT... Not good enough. Obviously
IF TJD had left I am guessing woodson would be 0 for 4 on tourneys. Even that year was a underachievement they were picked to win the big ten. 12-8 is ok but nothing great.

You ask when did ND win big time in response to a post I made to bsmitty.

I answered your question, nothing more, nothing less. I made NO connections to anything IU related.

So, I am not sure what your bitching about.
1. Why bring ND fb into the discussion?
2. #1 is so irrelevant, I thought you were referring to basketball; hence why I asked when did they ever win big?
3. I'm not bitching. Just curious what ND football , or RMK. Or liking IU hoops and ND football, have to do with Woodson being an awful coach.

They were pretty special in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. And again I guess in the 1970's.

Eleven. The last one being 37 years ago. Just sayin
Every title they have is a "voted title". And not saying they were not the best team. Just pointing that out.

Had some.really good teams under Holtz. But since, they've been up and down. Been really good of late.

Reversible jacket.
I get that. Never understood the reasoning. My cousin is a HUGE IU fan. Hoops and FB. BUT...dude has always loved the Irish. Just like most fans, there's usually a moment that makes us a fan...a favorite player being an example. Or a memorable game. Or , well just being born into it. For him it was Ismail, and then a family member(his dad side), playing there.

Heck I like ND in football. Not like I do Indiana. Hell, like them in hoops; Loved Digger.

Just a stale argument.

I grew up in Michiana. I loved ND as a kid. While ND Football was great under Ara, There was a lot of liberties taken by players that should have spelled legal trouble for the players involved. ND, to the best of their abilities, handles these things through the "student life council". They were very good at keeping what should be police matters internal. Anyway, about that time I'd had enough of their phony ass facade.

This particular reversible jacket guy just makes too many disparaging, yet uninformed comments about IU as a whole. As an alum, it's...... annoying.

And I get that side of the ",reversible jacket" syndrome.

I had a relative play for RMK, huge IU bball fan all of life because that was what we watched. ND football was kind in my household and have followed them ever since. I’m 2 hours from ND and about 2 hours from IU. Not sure why this is a big deal, there is a ton of Indiana natives that follow both teams.

Pick a side!

It ain't just me talking about reversible jacket "fans" pal.

But you do you.
I will, I’m changing who I watch and follow because some dude on a message board tells me I need to pick a side. If you can’t see the issues at IU, so be it.

I know it’s results that matter most, but this team is close. We’ve lost close ones to very good teams in Maryland and Purdue. We beat a good (per the NET) team in OSU.

If we’d have closed out the last two, we’d comfortably be in the field.

Badgers aren’t great and they do lose games in their building. Win that one and then take care of business at home against Michigan and UCLA. This team can be a 6-7 seed in the NCAA. And then who knows. The talent is there to make a run b
Year 4, tired of being close, tired of bubble talk, at some point we have to win some of these games. Losing 5 out of last 6, not acceptable. Same ole same ole, not acceptable. Eye test not acceptable.

With those issues, just totally commit to ND for both football and basketball.

Don't subject yourself to the trauma of being an partial fan of both schools.
