I'm not sure what this decisive victory will ultimately mean, but I'm relatively certain that 1) Musk and Trump will never speak of it, and 2) they won't 'wake up' or learn anything from it.

Yeah, they won’t say much and, if they do, they’ll downplay the loss, after Musk recently commented that this election would determine “the future of civilization.” Lol.

Musk has pissed off many, including Republicans. If the voters turn on him in future elections (and make no mistake, this was a repudiation of Musk), that’s a big problem for the co-presidency.

It's a good sign, but I wouldn't get ahead of myself. The WI court race maintains the status quo, as do the two FL House races, even though the R margins were far lower than Trump's 2024 margins. Lots of apples and oranges being compared.

2016-2025 in a nutshell...I think both sides are in need of a wake-up call. The only thing worse than the Republican Party trotting out Donald Trump as the nominee 3 times is the Democrats losing to him twice.

Yes. Speaking of margins, the two House Republican wins in Florida were by narrower margins than not only Trump '24 but also much narrower than the Ws of the previous office-holders (Waltz and Gaetz). And the Dem candidate in one of those districts flipped Escambia County (which includes Pensacola and its large military population), carried by Trump five months ago by 19 points, from red to blue.

Supposedly Trump is telling his inner circle Musk is stepping down/going away soon. Given that he was near tears talking about Tim Walz showing Tesla stock prices going down, I didn't think it'd take too long.

What a piece of excrement that guy is. He welds a chainsaw on stage bragging about putting thousands of people out of work and cutting off funding to untold numbers of people and programs and he cries like a little girl when someone flaunts his company's dropping stock price.

He's the richest guy in the world who doesn't need anything for the rest of his life, but the reduction in value for one of his companies is what makes him emotional. Nevermind the fact that he doesn't ever see most of his kids and has said that his trans kid is dead to him - loss of money is STILL paramount to him. That's evil and he can't get far away and disassociated with the US Federal Government soon enough.

Well, to be fair, not much good has happened in the executive branch since January 20. Musk is an asshole who cries about his stock price drops...and not much else. So yeah, he's a pretty bad hombre. And Trump is Trump.

The margins in the House seats were about what I expected. Incumbency means something — how many incumbents get re-elected every cycle? Incumbents also tend to attract lower tiered candidates who don’t get any funding. Nothing much to see here.

If Elon is getting onto the President's bad side and gets to the point that the President starts calling him names and makes him persona non gratis, you, dbm and every other hard-core MAGA here will join in on the name calling. You might even start vandalizing Teslas. :)

I normally don't resort to these kinds of hyperboles, but in this case, this wasn't really a loss for the GOP, but a win for democracy. For the past two decades, Wisconsin has been the site of the single most concerted effort in America to turn a polity into a one-party state. That attempt now appears to have fallen just short.
