This was a relatively minor issue that was discovered internally and brought to the NCAA. Had they chosen to ignore it, nothing would have come of it. It's Indiana...they did the right thing as usual.

You don't go on probation for minor violations. I've heard this so many times. It's not that phone calls are inherently nefarious, it's they are huge when other teams aren't allowed to make them.

Anything prior to 1975: so, half. IU tied for 1st in the BT Conference in 1974 and didn't make the Tourney.
