1.) Anything but a set 3 from him looks like a running lunge from somebody in Boy's Club trying to hit a half court shot ... seen it more than once and it's a pattern/problem. Looks like throwing it up after you got fouled, but there's nobody within 10 feet.
2.) That stupid Kyle Guy like shit sticking his tongue out when he does actually hit a wide open three. Dumbass, you are supposed to make those, stop acting like you're MJ or something stupid like that

Is it just me, or does this whole hitch shot stuff that we see everywhere seem to be being replaced with some bizarre follow through form, like they're getting ready to do a Karate Kid crane kick after they release it, like they're going to mentally bend it in once it's out of your hands ... get your damn hands down, stop wishing, and go get the rebound if you think you missed and you got some idea how you missed.. Again, saw ND players do it too! Who is teaching them that. Race needs to not swing the ball around looking to pass like he's, again, trying to be MJ. One more, why does it appear that while X is fast in the open court, he then looks like a pegleg or hobbling around when it gets to half court offense. I have played against people that move weird like that/unnatural movements, and it is hard to defend/predict, so maybe not a bad thing, just weird looking

It's just you. The rest of us aren't drinking and ranting at 2 in the afternoon.

might be a good week to try decaf!

Wow - I disagree. My take on Kopp is that he's under utilized. I don't like how he's often standing off to the side of the court on offense, waiting for a pass that rarely comes. I'd like to see more creativity in getting him the ball so he can shoot. He's got a nice looking shot, and when he's on, he can be dangerous. He crashes the boards fairly well, and is not afraid to mix it up in the paint on either offense or defense. He plays decent D for a guy that might be a tad bit slower than most on the floor. And, when I attended the games in the Bahama's this year, no one was more vocal on the court, directing players, calling our screens, etc. than him. I'm hoping he becomes much more involved in the offense, along with Parker, as we head into B10 play.

Some of his shots off the dribble look like he's having an epileptic seizure, I used to think this about Robbie Eggers too, who he reminds me of

I totally disagree on Kopp, more like directing things for him translates to "pointing - you get over there cause I'm too slow, I saw it first, so you gotta do it now". I do like Stewart though, somebody needs to get Guyton in there and teach him how to jab step, would be dangerous if he could do that effectively.

Did you not watch him at Northwestern? Same player…. You like him when he’s on you’re team.

If Kopp weren’t shooting 42% from 3, you may have an argument.
I think he's like a non athletic Brian Evans, with half the chops, sort of like an Eggers as I said. Hope he proves me wrong, but that's what I see

I typically try and avoid calling players on our team “dumbass”, but that’s just me.

He’s more than fine, and an upgrade from last year.
I guess it depends on what your expectations are. I never assumed an immediate turn around for a losing team. Lots of people did, but you got to be real and if he is any part of a starting lineup next year, we got problems

That's kind of dumbass, but that's just me :) I expect good basketball and not taunting the other team over making a wide open three that half this site could have made probably. Don't like his attitude/sportsmanship. Seriously, taunting/trash talk is all fair game in my book until you see it coming from those that can't back it up. If he thinks he's so badass to do that or drop a Mark Jackson shake or something like that, he's open to criticism on the next throw it into the stands 3 he jacks up.

I'm fine with him standing in a corner waiting for a pass.....just moving outside the 3 pt line to get free. I hate his dribbling into the lane and trying to make a play.

Like the OP, I don't like the hurried, leaning 3 pt shot off the fast break. If he doesn't have time to get his feet under him and go up straight, he shouldn't shoot it.

The only other shot I want to see from him is an open 2 after a solid shot fake sends the defender past.

Wine tastes better at 2:00, and is this not a basketball forum? Bet CAM might be partaking today on his couch while he earns as much this month as most of us make in a year! There's still lots to criticize and if people don't, we end up with CAM's wine break, he ought to do a podcast or something!

There are a lot of poor shot mechanics in college basketball today.
Yes there are, like Purdue, maybe Kopp can learn to sweep the leg, we're only 11 games in, there's hope ...

Best baseline scorer we've seen in a while. Pullup floaters pretty fair too.

He might not even be on the team next year unless he chooses to use his Covid year. He has been really good for us and an upgrade over last year.

Is he a starter on a Big Ten championship caliber team? No. However if your expectations for this team were Big Ten championship, then I guess that makes you the dumbass.

Too bad he couldn’t play more like Evan Fitzner

I already stated supra, dumbass, that those were not my expectations. I had expectations better than I do now, but word of some talent being brought in elevates expectations this year, plus actually using KL. I'm kind of disappointed that we don't start our best players and think they damn should be thrown to fire if we expect that much of a middle of the pack season. It pisses me off, just let JG, KL, and Bates play for the love of God!!! If we are going down anyway, let's blaze it, try to make the goddamn tourney and **** up some brackets!

Wtf are you talking about? We are 9-2. Both losses were on the road and both could easily have been wins.

Our best players ARE starting. You want to take Race out to play JG? Lander has proven to not be very good, and likely won’t be on the team much longer (like by the weekend). Bates gets quite a bit of PT.

Say what?

Strong rumors of him transferring at semester break (any time).

Interesting. Not really much of a surprise, though. If that's the case, too bad for the kid, he has a lot of potential but is evidently still remembering his press clippings from high school.

Yea I’m guessing he won’t have much interest from P5 schools.

I don’t remember Robbie Eggers shooting threes? Or really scoring at all. Or doing anything. He did have a uniform. I do remember that.

Maybe you don’t see what you think you see?
