And the whole reason he wasn't in MAL to welcome the FBI was because he had to be in NYC for his deposition. And his defenders can't grasp what that says about him, and how stupid you have to be to defend such an obvious criminal. It's mindblowing...

Lol the nut job NY AGs criminal case against him got laughed out of court. The Obama DAs were too embarrassed to even bring it before a judge. You're all deranged.

Remember there's a gate there. You're only in if St. Peter says you're in. And I'm not sure "in like Flynn" is the best expression for this discussion. Michael Flynn may have his own challenges. 😁
I don’t know what the big deal is, most people with his kind of money shop at Saks!

Lol. I’m fine, but thanks for the warning you and Catturd. It’s funny how many right wing tax cheats there must be. You all seem scared to death of this !
Right, because the government never screws anything up at all. You want to have to waste a bunch of your time because someone thinks you may have done something wrong and you are guilty until you can prove your innocence? No wonder you collected a government paycheck for yrs .

Funny coming from someone that gets their facts from Rolling Stone.

It's not that. It's more disingenuous gov bs. About as disingenuous as the title: Inflation Reduction Act. It'll double the size of the agency. More gov. And how about a little common sense here. Naturally not all 86,000 will be field agents but the ones that are will clearly be inexperienced. Do we really think they'll be assigned to Boeing? Please. You think these new hires will have the finance/business/entity/forensic/accounting acumen to battle the best tax lawyers the wealthy and big corps can hire? No. They'll be field agents earmarked for harassing small business owners and self employed people who are just trying to get by and likely won't have the resources to fight back. This is tantamount to doubling the size of the ncaaa.

Reform the tax code. Don't hire more nerds to harass main street

Wait - so NOW you're worried about people carrying firearms? These new agents will likely be out in communities talking with business owners about their taxes. Now that they're packing heat isn't this just increasing the good guys with guns on the streets?

Who knew that all it took to make the far-right crowd anti-gun was to give them to IRS agents? Instead of trying to pass meaningful gun legislation, maybe the Biden administration should just deputize every American citizen as IRS agents.

Why should IRS agents need guns and what kind of training are they going to have to use them?

Funny how liberals are all for defund the police but are all gung ho on sending accountants out with guns to harass and intimidate people. Unlike law enforcement with the IRS you are guilty and must prove your innocence. Going to guess the number of small business owners is overwhelmingly GOP . Dems are content working for the government .

Why are you trying to infringe on these IRS agents' 2nd amendment rights?

Training?! Next thing you know, I'm sure you'll be calling for some sort of registry of armed IRS agents and a licensing program.

No idea why you think that’s who they will be going after. My guess is it will be the high level tax cheats. But just like yours, it’s just a guess.

Apparently then that could be you, as you told us all what big stuff you have to claim on your taxes.

Not a chance. It's common sense. Low hanging fruit. The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates that more than 90% of the expected revenue will come from those making under $200k. This is increasing the IRS' budget by more than 6x. Dems.... unleashing a bunch of nerds to harass small businesses. More revenue. More spending. Awful

New revenue so our gov can spend more? No. It's not a good thing. Making the IRS budget six times bigger. No. Not good. Unleashing an army of agents on main street. Not good. And I love that while inflation is taking a toll on small businesses this is couched as The Inflation Reduction Bill. Totally absurd. Half of my downtown is vacant. This is the last thing businesses need. But what do these people know about small business. The president has collected a gov check for half a century.

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/08/09/with-new-agents-heres-who-the-irs-may-target-for-audits.html. Says they won’t be going after small businesses. But also says less likely to get targeted if you have a regular W2.
Another sign the government doesnt want people running their own business and making their own decisions in life. Of course you will be less likely to gt targeted with a W2 form. They want to make it so hard for small business that people just give up and goose step in line to the government.

That's exactly right. Rich people fight. They don't want protracted litigation. They want people who lack resources to settle.

Zeke it says right In the article who knew auditors will be assigned to. Comports with the joint commission. They aren't going after gm.
Right which opens more experienced to go after whom? It also says they have lost 30,000 employees recently too.

You are totally clueless about this.
Explain it then. What is the right level of IRS enforcement. I have lots of friends that own businesses. The majority stretch the tax code and their subsequent effective tax rate is artificially low. They roll the dice knowing an audit is unlikely.

Meanwhile, a Corporate guy like me maxes out his 401k and the wife's 493b to try and limit our tax hit. The IRS will get that back when I retire.

Yes that makes sense . Lol Why would the government go after small businesses?

Had to deal with In dept of revenue when their website was at fault to send in the money I collected for them and that was a nasty mess had to spend money to prove they were wrong, have to spend money now to have someone take care of it so I get to pay for the privilege of collecting money for them . Imagine in it a much bigger form .

Would you do away with IRS enforcement? I get the aggravation, but what's the solution?
I think we need to reform the tax code. Punishing small business with this burden is bad timing. They aren't going after billionaires. They're jumping over dollars to chase pennies. And the timing isn't great. Inflation is bad. My little downtown looks absolutely awful. It's totally dead. Entire blocks with only one or two stores open. The rest all out of business. And I'm in the "good" part of town
