I thought Trump said he would double down if Trudeau imposed reciprocal tariffs? You stand your ground and Trump immediately caves? I hate the idea of tariffs, but if it's well thought out and in the long term interest of Americans, I'd support it. He can't stick to his guns for 5 minutes?

The trump negotiations I'm aware of: wave white flag at Taliban, prostrate to Trudeau?, and we shall await the results of the Trump Putin negotiations. I guess part of the agreement will be that Kiev is split down the middle?

Trump never anticipated retaliatory tariffs by Canada. I'm sure it never crossed his mind.

His repeated shitting on Trudeau and Canada since Jan 20 is inexplicable. As someone said in another thread, he's probably jealous of Trudeau. Trudeau reminds Trump of what he used to be - - - young(er), good-looking, fit and charismatic.

"Today the United States launched a trade war against Canada, their closest ally and partner, their closest friend. At the same time, they are talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin, a lying, murderous dictator. Make that make sense."

Trump has claimed that he was told he looked like Elvis when he was younger and has said the NYC dating scene was his Vietnam, but in reality no one but his mom told him he was good looking and without his money no one is sleeping with Trump at any age. He looks at Trudeau and sees a lot of what he wishes he would have been.

What's crazy is that this is fairly well-known. Presumably everyone in Trump's inner circle knows this. Trump undoubtedly knows this.

Basically, he knows people are just trying to butter him up to get what they want, probably don't actually believe or care about what they're telling him, and he still goes along with it anyway. I guess that's probably textbook narcissism, but I don't know.
