Jared Dawson, 6-2, 305lbs. DT from Louisville. A productive DT who had his best season this past year. Has one year of eligibility left.

I did some research on the stats to compare him to James Evan’s and it appears they are almost identical in stats. As I was looking at James Evan’s stats over his 4 years I noticed this year he has punted over half as much as he did in any of the prior 3 years. Also, prior to this year the stats show he never had a punt downed inside the 20. This year he has 10 which is 1/3 of his punts. Just a great indicator imo to show how much better this team is.
Last year he would've needed a minimum 60 yard punt to have it downed inside the 20.I did some research on the stats to compare him to James Evan’s and it appears they are almost identical in stats. lol. Why would we need to argue about it? I said where the stats came from. You can see them for yourself at the link below. I have no idea if the stats are accurate. You would think espn would be a reliable source though. I did see someone complaining that the stats espn used for Ashton jeanty weren’t what was captured by pff. So, I’m not disagreeing at all. It is a strange stat and I thought I saw some inside the 20 in years past too, but idk. Those stats have to be incorrect... I'm certain I've seen his punts downed inside the twenty on multiple occasions over the past couple of years...
Now this isn't an issue I care enough to carry on any major argument over but I'm just pointing out that your stat source is flawed...
It's understandable... Our own official stats (in Game Notes) show no Onside Kicks having been attempted this year while we all know that we did attempt one against Ohio $tate...

Good replacement for James Carpenter. Hosea Wheeler from Western Kentucky commits.
It says he signed in the tweet. So we are free to celebrate! No "commit" when they could sign nonsense.Did he SIGN , or just commit?
I wonder if there is anything more on the tweet regarding Dawson. If they are both on board then I would assume we are done with interior line, and I would be ecstatic with the pick ups.It says he signed in the tweet. So we are free to celebrate! No "commit" when they could sign nonsense.
The guy from On3 that reported on Beebe also noted he signed. Specifically a separate tweet after the recent news noting that he signed, not just committed. So IDKWTH is going on there. It says he signed in the tweet. So we are free to celebrate! No "commit" when they could sign nonsense.
Big pick up! Plus I love that we plucked him out of UK and Louisville’s backyard. Now if Dawson can follow suit then that will be even sweeter.Wheeler really, really fit an important need for the defense. Besides his 74 tackles, he had 5TFL 2 sacks & 2 blocked FG's. His recruitment allows Indiana to play with the big boys again. GO HOO-HOO-HOOSIERS!
Hmm... yea I see that. If he did sign, I see speculation IU could release him or he could go into the spring portal. Idk I give up.The guy from On3 that reported on Beebe also noted he signed. Who is running this show: Transfer portal active while games still being played, 6-7th year players, you can commit and sign but then decommit, top teams in playoff not given first round byes, visiting teams not getting more ticket allotments, 3 week layoff before playoff starts, NIL gone wild. The guy from On3 that reported on Beebe also noted he signed. I believe the spring window is no more. I could be wrong.Hmm... yea I see that. If he did sign, I see speculation IU could release him or he could go into the spring portal. Idk I give up.

Yeah, I am wrong. Which makes sense...you'd have to have one after spring ball. Maybe there was another window that was eliminated.I believe the spring window is no more. I could be wrong.
Jared Dawson, Santana Hopper, & Alex Wollschlaeger, & Fernando Mendoza come on down. Let's roll'em
This year he threw for 3,129 yds with 29 TD’s and 7 INT’s pretty impressive statsWashington State qb to the portal. He’s was responsible for 40+ Tds I think? Wow.
I'd agree but, in the end, we are just one of 12 teams in this same boat. It's easier to get frustrated and blame the system but let's let that piece sort itself out while we focus on what we can do. We are also only one of 12 teams that can use it to our advantage as a live recruiting tool. It's tough to recruit when you are trying to focus on the biggest game in IU football history. I wish there was a better way to do this with the portal timing.
