i am a IU Alumni and have been a huge IU fan for 60 years. I will say this team is the weakest mentally tough team I have ever seen at Indiana. And that was the difference last night, Purdue was mentally tougher than we were.
I have always said Players Play like Coach’s Coach. That is all I have to say

They did play tough in the PU game, which proves all the people on here saying “I can deal with a loss as long as we at least play tough” are completely full of shit. They played tough and they missed shots they shouldn’t have. Toughness has nothing to do with the ball rolling around the rim and not going in. Toughness has nothing to do with the ball going part way in and bouncing back out. We missed a lot of bunnies and that’s frustrating, but that has zero to do with toughness. It’s obvious that people here equate toughness with winning. Win a game, you played tough. Lose a game, you’re weak as shit and don’t deserve to wear a b-ball jersey. And you’re correct, they didn’t play with any toughness at all vs MN.

Depends on how a coach try’s to develop toughness and discipline. Putting Kotex’s in lockers, grabbing kids by the neck and shirt, and kicking them in the shins doesnt do a lot for some players.
