Yeah, I think that’s what it came down to. The committee must have concluded that IU was simply just too non-competitive in too many games. The L’ville, Illini, and Iowa games in particular must have stood out.

Wasn't it you suggesting an elite 8 appearance just a week or ten days ago? Kinda impossible to get to elite 8 if you don't make the tournament. Nothing surprising or unfair about IU being left out. I remember when IU got a four seed in 2023 when Chris Reynolds was on the Selection Committee. It was a seed out of the deep blue.

If you are on the bubble then selection committee politics can always come into play but in this case I believe UT strongly deserved the bid head to head with IU. I will look at WVU since not familiar with their details.

Big10 rep on the committee was Minnesota’s AD. I am sure he did his best for the conference.

It's been so long now there is no "bouncing back" from it, rather this is a "claw your way out from the rubble and climb" scenario. This team's reputation preceded it, and it said they have no business in the postseason.
