I'm not sure what you're saying or asking? Owners? My understanding of the purpose and way NIL is supposed to work is it's essentially like an advertising deal for the player. They get paid regardless, just like most endorsements get paid regardless of how well the product or service does. If the NIL foundation/provider agrees to pay a kid a million dollars, that's it. I do think they can tie it to an appearance or endorsement, so maybe if they did that and the player didn't complete it, they could sue them I suppose. But, I don't believe NIL is any sort of "investment" where the donor gets a payoff if the kid goes pro or something. Not that different than outside, where you could pay me to endorse your business or make an appearance. If you want to do that, I can provide my venmo.
