The loss of Rob, Hunter, Race and Davis is just too much lost firepower. At one point today in the first half, IU was down 14 (I think) and the players on the floor were Zac, Moore, Al, Smith and Green. Even the announcer said...” where’s the scoring going to come from”. Really frustrating having so many injuries, especially Rob and Hunter.

and Forrester has been in street clothes the last couple of games...not sure what's going on there.

scared to death every time Romeo rolls his ankle or Juwan bangs knees with someone...

At 100% healthy. ..
This team would't stand a chance..
The lack of three point shooting on this team .Can never be talked about enough....
Honestly I see it being 3 -5 year's before we're real legit contenders.

Today’s fight and better play in the 2nd half moved IU up on my final standings regular season board from #7 to #6. We’ll be a lock for the NIT at least. Cannot afford to keep these slow starts against the next 5 opponents. We look like deer-in-the-headlights.

2 years away, IMO. Once Archie's first class of his own are juniors.

It’s like people forgot we were on the road...in the B1G...against the #2 team in the country without our starting PG and other key players. Freshman or not, Rob is extremely important to this team. We were able to overcome missing him at home against Illinois, but MI on the road is a different animal.

This team comes out soft every game. If they are playing a Tom Crean scheduled team, they likely would overcome that. It has become an Archie pet peeve of mine. It is the coaches responsibility to get the team ready.

#6 gets us in the tourney as a 7 seed or better.

If it takes 5 more years CAM won't be the coach who does it. Of course, it depends on how you define "legit contender."

Injuries or not, contention for the BIG championship or not, the expectation of an IU basketball player is to fight like hell. This team has no passion.

Who are the 5 better teams? Mich/MSU..... After that? We are as good as anyone else. Total crapshoot.

Next year. Archie’s 3rd year will click. All the injuries this year it’ll be the opposite next year. They’ll do it with two 5* freshmen starting (Brooks, TJD), too.

Ah yes, next year. Remember Tom Creans 2nd year when Mo Creek went down? Sound familiar?

1. Michigan
2. Michigan State
3. Ohio State
4. Wisconsin
5. Nebraska
6. IU
7. Iowa / Maryland
8. Purdue or Minnesota
9. Northwestern or Illinois
10. Penn State / Rutgers

7-10 and 11-14 are a big congested mess right now. IU could slip down into this.

Yep, it's like everytime one our guys falls down you're worried you won't see them for a few months.

Soft play? You're an idiot. This team has some issues and limitations....but effort and soft play isn't one of them.
"Soft play" is the "adjective du juor" this season used by critics who have no idea what they are talking about.

IU's better than Nebraska who just gave Iowa their first conference win. They are also better than Wisconsin and we get them at home. I'd have IU at 3-4 right now.

None of those teams (3-5) have proved anything to say they are better than we are. Wisc just got whipped at home by a very average Minnesota team.

I get you are a perpetually miserable hater, so whatever.

It’s simply a prediction. Chill out Nancy.

If that makes me a “hater,” then shall I call you “homer?”

We are 12 and 3 with 2 of our losses @ the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country. Did anyone think we were competing for a National Title this year? I thought if we ever could compete it would be because we got hot going into the tournament, not because we were putting on dominating performances now or earlier. I don't understand all of the doom and gloom. Second year coach who is recruiting well, has instilled team defense (which travels), and is playing with an ad hoc line up every game because of injuries. Yet we are still 12-3 with 2 of our losses being on the road to the current #1 and #2 team in the country. I will take that particularly considering our best option at the point has been out for several games and our second highest rated recruit has not played one minute because of some odd ailment.

Why is anyone talking about next year when we have a pretty good ball club this year?

Another over-reaction. Not a chance for three or five years? You have no way of knowing what the future holds. No cred. But if you feel this way, why bother watching. Feel free to go away for five years. That would be nice.

Injuries are part of the game, but yeah, this season has been a little nuts in that regard. Not only have we played short nearly every game this year, but it certainly doesn’t help team chemistry when players are constantly sitting due to injury.

Still, we played better than I thought we would against UM away. Outside of that 5 minute stretch, we played really well. That was just too much to overcome.

Well said.... there are only about 2-3 perennial jackasses on here that don't agree.
