One is old and naturally would have declining cognitive functionality especially relative to doing the most difficult job in the world.
Tommy is much younger and comes across as a box of rocks wrapped around with two ears -- or maybe he has just been hit in the head too often. That's my excuse for him. Didn't they use leather headgear back in his days?
It would be absolutely awful to be an intelligent person and have to answer questions from a hack like that.
