Getting them off to school and sending them to public school is key. One kid daycare is $1,800 a month. Once they get to school it's really not that bad - other than dental.

This kind of stuff comes out every so often, and folks express shock that it can cost so much, and state there's NO way they can afford it - and somehow they do. Our son was born in 1991, and we made about 1/3 then vs what we made when he graduated college in 2013 (which cost 5X at the UofMinnie vs what I paid to graduate from IUB in 1985) and we did fine.

But we're VERY fiscally conservative, so we were saving for college before he was born, so we had THAT going for us. If you have a plan and decide to spend within your means, there's a path that doesn't lead to financial difficulties.

Cash money .....

Living in a good public school district makes an enormous difference. Decent private schools where I live, decent, not fancy, are $20,000 a year all in. That's nearly a quarter of a million dollars in savings BEFORE college - for a single kid. Add two or three and it's big, big bucks. Half these damn kids will forget jesus by the time they're out of college anyway

My dad went to private schools (Catholic) for K-12 and was vociferous in his belief that we go to public schools, so I'm not a fan of private schools for K-12 as a general principle. We were fortunate to have very good public schools for our son to attend.

Yea because they would be so cheap if only gop was in control lmao
The GOP is better than Democrats, but that’s not saying much. However, Fiat currencies are Ponzi schemes and governments will always debase their currency and steal from their citizens. Not to mention the misallocation of capital, lost production, widening wealth gap, and all other societal ills inflating currencies cause. The answer is sound money…aka Bitcoin.

It is very possible, yes, we had little spending money when the kids were young and several years there was no money for more than a staycation, but it worked. It is all on priorities.

But some way to help parents with childcare would be popular.

Looked to Ivanka Trump to take up the child care problem when DJT took office. However, as this article points out the pandemic and other political issues took precedence.

And childcare was a priority for the Democrats, until it wasn't. But cost is a problem and almost certainly impacts our birthrate.

and then they want to go to an out of state university.... 300K becomes chump change!

Yeah for the average B student I'm not sure out of state makes a lot of sense over State U with current prices. I have a close buddy whose kid did 12 years of expensive private school them went away to a private liberal school out of state that was expensive as hell. Not Ivy League. Just an average to good college. What's the point of all that expense

With abortion no longer an option in many states the GOP may join the Dems in helping families with the increased family size along with additional costs.

Only for the wealthy. The only taxes they fight to lower are for those at the top.
You misread my initial post. It was about sound money, not political parties. As long as we have fiat currencies, this is going to happen. With that said, your statement is false. The 2018 tax cuts, cut taxes for everyone. Tax cuts just tend to benefit wealthy people because they pay more in taxes. Also, inflation is a tax and affects poorer people more than the wealthy.

The 2018 tax cuts didn't help anyone other than the wealthy

No that is incorrect. It cut the tax rate for almost all tax brackets. The largest percentage tax cut was the decrease from 15% to 12%(10k-77kish income bracket). It also expanded the CTC, which wealthier people can’t receive (it phases out at 400,000 for families). I’m sorry you were lied to.

Do you mean ortho? Teeth cleanings and fillings are pennies on the Invisalign dollar. 🦷🥺
See what I mean? Like I said in that other post, sign them up for NIL to endorse bubble gum flavored toothpaste and decay-preventive gummies or whatever.
