I have two degrees from IU. 40+ year season ticket holder and donor.
TMP + Huge= Dumb And Dumber
I’m being serious about Fred Hoiberg. Google his name and read article from Des Moines Register. I think Indiana would be one of the jobs he’d consider (not that I’d be happy being a Hawkeye fan)! The Indiana job might be of interest to Fred Hoiberg. He’d turn things around year one.
Exactly This. The CTC haters simply can not accept this reality. Please don't take this the wrong way. At one time you were in the same class as KY and UNC. You're not anymore. The powers that be won't let you. Too many things in place. If money is the priority over winning and giving players the student bill of rights whatever the hell that entails, then returning to your glory days isn't going to happen.
Your team played hard against Iowa and should have won. Have you seen that all season? I've watched most of your games. Outside shooting is lacking but there's a load of talent there. Either this squad had the most 4 and 5 star players in the BIG or close. Don't know if it's a chemistry issue or coaching or both but something happened to this team. I'd guess Archie has a couple more season to turn it around. There's talent here and more coming in so I guess next season we will see if it's coaching. There's no way in hell this team should have a losing record though.
Good point. It does seem there were issues intra-team - how did that gritty team that passioned out victories turn into the one that folded at the first punch in the mouth? I don’t think Archie coached them to be as soft as a baby’s behind.I live in Dayton and like basketball so I watched a lot of his games at UD on TV and in the arena. The teams always played hard and usually overachieved. He's a good coach and I think he's going to get it done at IU too. There's no denying that the team really played hard the in these two recent losses and very well could have won both. It's obvious the team hasn't given up and I'm not giving up either. I do think there must have been some chemistry issues that lasted for too long, but it looks like he's addressed those because I don't see them now.
That is so sweet when you take up for Feepie.
Aaaaggghhh!!Freddie boys says major rebuild. That means archie has 7 years minimum.
This is a long term rebuilt. We are just getting startwd baby.Playing hard and winning are two different things and we used to do both. The 11 teams we've lost to in the last two months played hard...they won. This team seems complacent at best. Get a small lead and hope it doesn't get squandered....make stupid turnovers or ill-advised shots with the opportunity to go up by 6, 8, 10...make a critical free throw.
This product on the floor may also have chemistry issues but you've got to be kidding if you don't point to talent and coaching. 12th in the B10 in free throws? Guards shooting under 70%? Last possession opportunities where we look as prepared as a playground pick-up game.
I also would have liked to see Archie stop the game, pick up the mic and tell the crowd that if that chant against Haarms doesn't stop immediately, they can all leave and they'll finish the game without an audience. While I'm no longer a fan of BK, there were some things he insisted upon that differentiated IU on and off the court.
We're ranked 41st in recruiting for next year. How will it get better? Holtmann is 38-15 at OSU. Miller is 29-29. Hired at the same time. We're supposed to be the basketball school...
Because you know nothing of the sort. It remains insanely stupid to want to fire him now. You got that going for you.
Dipshit, this IU fan has been a fan since the early 70s as a kid. I was attending IU when IU won the '81 championship. I want a return to those kinds of teams and I like Archie Miller and I think he's going to get that done. Even if I didn't, firing him after this season would still be insanely stupid. If you think that's a good idea than you're an insanely stupid dipshit.
His track record. Dumb question. Can you give us a single piece of evidence this season that tells you with a very high degree of confidence that “he’s going to get this done?”
You like Miller.
Okay. Fine. But this is about evidence on the court, not personalities. What is it that tells you that Archie is going to get it done, other than hopes, dreams and perhaps a handful of magic beads?
Its a IU basketball message board, you a-hole, not a stick your head in the sand, CAM love site. Things are bad, we want change. Obviously, if you don't, you don't know what IU basketball used to mean to fans and why losing two in a row is absolutely unacceptable, much less 12 of 13. No coach in this country, at any f'n level can claim that losing 12 of 13 is doing their job, much less with the talent we have. Arch needs to go, and I was not grumpy with his hire, but reality is reality. Next year will be worse, why prolong the suffering.
What is it that tells you that Archie is going to get it done, other than hopes, dreams and perhaps a handful of magic beads?
He was good enough for the biggest job in college basketball.A guy who defended a rapist and has an overall shitty coaching record is the guy you want restoring credibility?
Really, when the results are the same or worse next year, what will you say? You're a world class idiot.

Major rebuild!!! Bring on chris beard.12-2 with wins over Marquette and UL to "oh this is a rebuilding job." Give me a break. Jughead was a bad hire! Something seriously wrong in the locker room and Jughead is in charge of fixing that - which he hasn't!

What does Crean have to do w/anything?
Remember when you guaranteed us this year that Archie is better than Mack and Holtmann? How’s that working out? When are you going to give this crap up?
TMP guaranteed NOTHING?
I have said this before but once again, link where TMP said guarantee or STFU.

Since when? It happened last year..Do you realize that it is now against the rules for the coach to "pick uo the mic"?
