until further notice, the transfer portal has created a spring recruiting season. one could argue it has become more important than the traditional recruiting of high school players. it is a much faster way to change the prospects of your team from season to season. a coach can now add 22 year old men to his roster with 3 years of college experience as opposed to 18 year old kids who will need time to grow physically and mentally. although i don't personally like this drastic change in college hoops, for better or worse, barring rule changes, it is here to stay.
