What is weird is that when our team reverted to street ball, they played better. Nobody who watches AAU basketball should be surprised by that. If we counted the number of games played by our guys in high school vs. how many they played in AAU, I would bet AAU wins out easily. Perhaps Loyola Marymount had it right. Just let them play. Why coach them up anyway if the AAU coach has no desire to do anything except just let them play and cash his check from the shoe companies as he tells folks how great he is as a coach!!!!!! (Yes, this is satire folks). Sigh, what has happened to basketball? Charles Barkley is right. The AAU has been destructive much more than constructive.

AAU is for the college coaches to evaluate talent in basically an all-star setting. It does not build team basketball skillset as it is more individual game where the individual player breaks down the defense is a common offensive play. AAU uses a limited playbook compared to full school year academic-based sports team.
