It would be a waste of time if they didn't.
Failing a massive landslide for Senate Democrats in 2026, or something particularly egregious, Donald Trump isn't going to be convicted in the Senate.
That said, I generally don't have a problem with Congress wasting time and energy on pointless things.
If you mentioned Neptune Spear to AOC she'd probably think you were speaking of a seafood brand that she should find a way to either price control or sanction into oblivion (unless it were Democrat owned that is)...
