The "Crean Recruit" offense has worked well for Archie his first 3 seasons, but what happens when there are no more Crean recruits to bail out his offense?

Next season, with a team full of defensive-minded players and role-players, and no Crean recruits to depend on for offense, who will be the go-to-guy who can light it up for 30 points a night to make up for the team's lack of offensive ability?

Prediction: Nobody

Good grief. IU wins a big game, their first true test of the season and then I come on here and read this crap after only eight games of the season!

Unreal.

I did not see a "Crean Recruit" offense out there last night. There are Crean recruits on the team...but that wasn't a Crean offense.

I did see players who appear to have bought into coach's system and who appear to understand how to defend and rebound. I saw a far more effective offense when we got stops/rebounds and could move in transition...than when we permitted a very good defensive team to engage us in half-court. I believe there were three in double figures and a fourth (freshman/Franklin) with nine...so I agree with FSU's coach when he says that there are multiple scoring options on this team.

I really don't know what you were watching.

Troll

This guy is a troll trying to stir the pot. Coach Miller has developed the recruits Crean brought in......along with the ones he himself has brought in.

I personally like when someone comes out this hard, it's an obvious warning that I need to put this troll on ignore. Probably an angry PU fan who is on their way to their 4th loss of the season tonight. :)

Isn't' this the same pinheadery that fpeaugh sold us all summer about losing Romeo and Morgan? And yet we managed to get through November without an embarrassing loss to a mid-major school and we beat a top 25 team last night. They will be fine.

Devonte and Deron Davis are the only players on IU's roster that actually played/practiced for Crean. Devonte averaged 4.4 ppg under Crean. IU will be just fine in the future....

Feeblemindedpaw and his band of fellow bed wetters spent months blabbing about how bad this season would be - "losing the top two scorers, the sky is falling....".

The worst team in the country has two players that lead their team in scoring. Means zilch.

There are 2 holdovers from Crean and they are not playing whatever Crean calls an offense. You are asking the wrong question. Defense is the biggest improvement.

We will have new faces and returning players like every year. You were probably posting last year about how we would replace scoring from Romeo and Juwan.

Players come and go. Teams replace scoring. Having a good defense is something that can be passed down every year and is the difference between good and great teams.

people wondered who would score this yr with Romeo and Juwan gone...and yet we're scoring more, with more balance, more efficiency, higher shooting %. And we have shooters coming into the program next season.

And TJD isn't going OAD....he still needs to prove an outside shot to be lottery pick. And he'll be a monster next year. He's already better than most of us expected.

Shouldn't you be working a little harder to retire all that debt you have?

Does anyone else find it shocking that juniors and seniors, plus a McDonald's All-American frosh are leading them team in scoring? I didn't think so.

Add to that...Franklin. He ain't flashy...but he's another solid freshman who will likely play four years. It feels like...someone is building a program.

he actually had a better game last night than Durham. I doubt Franklin has ever faced defense like he did last night, and yet he did well.

Very happy with last night's results, but I think the bigger test is Saturday. First time in the red jerseys and we've always struggled at Kohl center. Wisky isn't as strong as some previous Bo teams, but still, they will force us into a ball-control game, so we need to cut down on the turnovers that flared up in the 2nd half last night.

Franklin was a bright spot against Florida State. Franklin played better than Durham at PG.
