I am all for people enjoying their craft, but they have to be serious about their craft too.

And Mel Kiper and Skip Bayless making absolute fools of themselves.
Not sure what the Browns are thinking, taking both Sanders and Gabriel. Maybe some trades in the works.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who finds Deion Sanders to be insufferable.
The guy was a legitimately phenomenal player. Easily one of the top CBs in NFL history - if not the top one. And his ability to play both football and baseball at the highest level was obviously rare.
But he’s one of the most obnoxious pro athletes of all time.

The Mel Kiper thing is the weirdest part. Why would you stake your reputation on that kid?
That Netflix special of his was nuts. How good could he have been or inversely, how is he not dead?
If they do not know whether it is true, why did they publish it?

Yeah, seems like somebody should have said, “slow down, hoss, this is not a good look and you’re making a fool of yourself.”
There were rumblings he was not doing well with the interviews. After the first round had gone by, both sanders and the brother doubled down on the nonsense. He should have immediately said on his social media “hell, my downward slide here was 100% on me. I was an ass during interviews— I need to apologize.” Or better yet, reach out to the GMs and coaches. Accountability matters to people spending millions on people.

I dunno man on one hand this kid grew up with one of the most overbearing self promoters in sports as his father and I imagine has had no shortage of sycophants telling him how great he is, which has likely been a primary influence in who he is and how he is perceived. He will likely be a circus and that will wear on on organization.
On the other hand, you have a talented QB with high end production who in 50 games threw for 14,300 yards, completed 70% of his 1800 attempts, 134 TDs to 27 INTs, another 17 rushing (though he is stricly a pocket passer). The tools are there if (a big if) he can be coached.
There certainly is very little risk for a team like the Browns to take a flyer on him (166th & 192nd picks). Considering what they gave up in draft capital and reputation to get serial happy ending chaser Deshaun Watson the Sanders pick was a PR coup.

I agree it was a good pick for them where they got him. If he’s so so and a headache, you just cut him.
But if they’d used a first or second rounder on him, that would hurt.
Mel Kiper, the guy who proclaimed Jimmy Clausen was the most accurate passer he’s ever seen and would be a decade long NFL starter is upset that people don’t share his evaluation of Shedeur as the best QB in the draft.
Kiper is to the NFL draft what Jim Cramer is to stocks.
