Not sure, but being held to 21 in 2H and only 6 fg's was very impressive. Team was locked in tonight. We held them to 25 points below their season avg. Huge!Has OSU been held to 30 first half points this year?
Thanks for all the numbers you posted. I posted my "stat of the day thread" before seeing this thread. Still, I don't mind reinforcing how good that D was tonight!Game Final IU 67 / OSU 51
From Under 8 to final score, IU closes on a 16-6 run and just a great all around team effort. I felt that while no question TJD was player of the game, we don't finish like we did without the hustle play of Trey G. Tremendous defense by him that led to offense. Offensive rebounds were a nice edge for the game with IU taking down 11 OR vs 5 for OSU. Just a great overall 2H for the Hoosiers. Here is the final 4:09 recap boxscore.
FG's
- IU 3-5 / OSU 1-5
3 Pts
- IU 0-0 / OSU 1-3
FT's
- IU 0-1 / OSU 0-0
Rebounds
- IU 41 / OSU 33
Turnovers
- IU 9 / OSU 15
Key individual Stats
- TJD 27pts / 12 boards / 5 blocks. 5 offensive rebounds which matches his total rebounds in OSU Game.
- Trey off the bench had 8 points, 2 steals and 4 assists.
- IU Guards as a collective group (excluding Trey), continue to struggle. The group of RP, X, TB and PS were a combined 4-23, 1-9 from three and 0-1 from the free throw line. On 23 attempts, their FG avg was 17.4%. However, they did a good job of protecting the ball and combined for 5 assists and only 1 turnover
- Race had a very strong second half and finished the game with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5-5 from FT line.
Other Game Notes
IU held OSU to 16 field goals resulting in a FG% of 30.8%. OSU in the second half was 6-23 resulting in a 26.1% FG%. This offset our lack of guard offensive production. Tip your hat to our defense. Outstanding team effort and 51 points is the fewest pts OSU has scored all season and a whopping 25 below their season avg.
All good my friend. I began keeping stats at the tv timeout mark awhile ago as it keeps me from getting nuts during the game when iU is having a tough syretch. Calms my nerves a bit. As you outlined in your post, defense won the game for IU tonight. This along with keeping our turnovers in check never allowed OSU to take control of the game. Great win! Thanks for all the numbers you posted. I posted my "stat of the day thread" before seeing this thread. Still, I don't mind reinforcing how good that D was tonight!
