Sounds like Rourke will play

The question is can He throw with the same velocity and get the same spin on the ball that He could before the injury? And can He do it without wearing a glove on his throwing hand. The bigger problem might be can He take snaps under Center effectively with the finger in that condition?

With this offense he may not need to take any snaps under center. His great decision making on the RPO's is what sets him apart. Think we will see another heavy dose of running the ball this week.

I was hoping they'd give Rourke plenty of healing time rather than risk it. Expected Tayven. If they can coach up QBs as much as has been bragged about... and seems like it's true.

But I assume they know what they are doing.

I will assume he can do all those things since Cig is starting him. But very valid questions. What happens if he gets his first hit in the game or will he be instructed never to run? It did not look that bad on the replay although I saw his thumb hit the opponents hand.

With this offense, we just need a consistent game manager. In either case, we need to remember he threw a 40 to 50 yard dime on a play AFTER the injury had happened. So for all intents and purposes, at his worst condition since the injury he was still playing fine. He has only improved since then so I'm honestly not worried.

Only concern I'd have is reinjury. Staff wouldn't play him if he couldn't throw it well.

And on the reinjury concern, I feel like this staff also wouldn't play him if there was any extra risk or concern in that area either.

It would play into MSU's favor to say anything other than what Cig said. He's hopeful he can play. It looks optimistic. MSU d coordinator essentially has to make a gameplan for two different QBs. Doubles his work and increases mental strain on MSU defensive players in coming days. I don't think Cig will take a risk he doesn't need to take come gameday
