Fascinating comments from Gary Neville. I’ve lost a lot of interest in the premier league and the game in general and I’ve just assumed it was no Messi Ronaldo etc. but Neville said that it’s just not appealing right now. He went back the last few seasons to see which players have had the most touches and it’s almost all center backs. Nottingham Forest, despite dropping their last two games, are sitting in third place in the premier league table, with 5 teams able to qualify for champions league. They are my second favorite English soccer team, and have been for about 20 years. The Brian Clough years and the European championships, to utter disaster--going all the way down to League 1. They have the coolest team name in any sport (whether you call them the Garibaldis, the Reds or the Tricky Trees), and they just might get CL qualification.

Interesting scores yesterday. Barca losing hopefully a reminder they gotta bring it every game. Glad to see Guirassy get the hat trick though. PSG losing too. Barca is my favorite team but if I had a 2nd vote I’d like to see PSG win just to give Mbappe the middle finger.

GAME OF THE CENTURY-- Arsneal/Real at the Bernabeu with the roof closed and Arsenal up 3-0. And I'm still nervous. The fans will be bonkers, the young arsenal kids who haven't been intimidated yet, might very well be intimidated playing at the Bernabeu. I think Madrid wins 3-1, which ain't enough to advance --Gunners to the Semis.

Prince William is a huge Aston Villa game and was there yesterday getting totally into the game. And his wife isn't completely bonkers or a bitch like his brother's wife.
Fun note--Prince William, who wasn't very old at the time, asked to have Ozzy Osbourne play at the Queen's Gala in 2002--Charles agreed and if you watch the video, even Harry isn't a dour dummy at the end and totally getting into it (along with Charles and William)
