Damn, I just spent a good 20 mintues writing out a detailed analysis of my Champions League picks. Ok my analysis is flawed because I'm terribly biased. I hit post reply and got that damn Oops messge, push the back button and try again. So without further ado (I know you've all been waiting for this) My short version picks for the Round of 16 Champions League.
Winners in Boldface
Aston Villa vs Club Brugge I see this as an upset pick for the starless Belgium side.
Dortmund vs Lille, Lille is a tough side having beaten Real Madrid once, but I'm a Serhous Guirassy (an underated player with the most goals this season in the UCL). Dortmuch haven't been themselves, but if the new manager puts Gittens back in the starting 11 I'll pick Dortmund.
Real Madrid vs Atletico Here's a classic bias pick. I really don't like RM. They're my Dallas Cowboys of European Football. I think Atletico will get over the hump in this soon to be classic.
PSV vs Arsenal I wanted to pick PSV with their American ties, but I believe both Amerians are injured and PSV's form is pretty horrible right now. Arsenal is ravaged with injuries though. I miss seeing Saka play! I think they will have enough though to push through to next round and then will lose to whoever they face.
Feyenoord vs Inter Milan Defense, Defense, Defense will prevail in this matchup with just enough Lautora Martinez to push them through.
Benfica vs Barcelona Another one of my bias picks. I love me some Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and old man Lewandowski. Nuf said.
Bayern vs Leverkusen I think Kompany will get outcoached and Leverkusen will be highly motivated as they're hosting the league final. Should be a great matchup though.
PSG vs Liverpool PSG has a lot of young talent and is probably a hot pick for the upset but I think Liverpool is the best Europen side this season. I have them winning the Champions League this year. I see them tying PSG on the road today and blowing out PSG at home. Salah will be the MVP of the entire tournament.
Alright, who you guys got?
