Can someone please explain to me the love for Goode. All I saw was a streak shooter who tried to act tough and couldn’t play D. He didn’t rebound and was undersized to guard the 3. Maybe under a different coach he would be better, but…….

He was one of the best shooters in the conference and probably our best leader.
That was true for this year's team. If you heard CDD's presser....sentimental factors and shortcuts in selecting the players is not an option. Players have to fit the template....including the current roster.
Yep. His team now, he should be under zero restrictions to keep or try to keep anyone he doesn't want. He owns the results, so he better be the one who gets to make the decisions.
Some of that 10 lbs better go to his heart and brain if that is the case. I do not see Devries and him gelling.

With a few of our current players, I think with different coaching, and a better "culture" they could be completely different players. Goode, I don't really think needs to be all that different, but I think his shooting, and his leadership, would be very beneficial to next year's roster. Hopefully, his role would be more of a reserve role. He's fairly streaky as a shooter, and his defense and rebounding aren't great, at times. But he has some fire, he can be a source of leadership and energy in the locker room, and off bench.
I hope he gets his waiver. If he doesn't, not as huge a blow as it would have been if Woodson were coming back. We REALLY needed him in Woodson's program. I suspect, in DeVries program, it'd be nice to have him, but not nearly as important.
I know, just one game, but was kind of an important one. Think he scored 1 point against Oregon in the BTT
I don't know if he's that streaky. Just had a really rough start to the season. Was really good for the back half of it. Any shooter will have off nights.
I think he just wore down at the end of the season, having played more minutes this season than ever before and having to expend so much energy on the defensive side.
Why are athletic scholarships even a thing anymore? If a player is getting three or four hundred grand in NIL, why do they need a scholarship on top of that?
Exactly it is kind or crazy. Not to mention how many of them are actually even going to class? Seems to be a joke now I have not heard of a player being academically ineligible in 20 years. Do they just take online test where they can simply look up the answers online?
Because not everyone is getting that kind of NIL? The scholarships are governed at the devision level, not at the individual school level. I suppose IU could say no more basketball scholarships, but why do that if no one else is? It's a competitive market for talent.
Remember when everyone said schools would never lend their brands to NIL deals? UNC did it, then everyone else followed suit. It's basic economics in action.
