Its amazing what landing a guy like Wilkerson does for the vibe. It sure feels like we'll get more than a couple more impact guys to fill the roster out. I think we do start to need to get some multi year guys here soon. Defense and rebounding need to be addressed, at all positions, but obviously need some post depth. Until we get someone like Conerway, we need a "better" lead guard than Enright (not that I don't like his commitment).

Conerway checks a handful of boxes...really hope we get him.

Overton also checks some needed boxes. Suprised there hasn't been any mention of IU yet with his ties with DeVries.

The North Florida kid would be a guard with size, but he appears kinda lumbering and slower...we need some quick, defensive minded kids. Its why I think Conerway and Overton are pretty important...or players like them.

Any word from DeVries WVU freshman recruits? Odih especially? What about Jayden Stone? The kid that sat out last year due to injury at WVU? He staying?

Per Trilly early today, Conerway will be announcing today for IU. He sounds like the skilled all-court, tough minded lead guard to run the offense and trigger the defense. I heard that he and Wilkerson have the same agent. Fingers crossed.

I am very confident that Troy transfer Tayton Conerway is committing to IU in the near future. If that ends up happening, landing Wilkerson and Conerway is a major achievement for Darian DeVries and the Indiana Hoosiers.

Portal doesn't close until April 22... there will likely be an IU player or two, or three... on next year's roster, that hasn't declared for the portal yet.

Its starting to make me appreciate what seems to be a more methodical approach by DeVries.

One of Baylor's impactful bigs just entered the portal yesterday, as an example. No clue if IU will get involved, but no one knew or thought about him the first 3-4 weeks of the portal.... Malik Mack isn't in the portal yet. Not sure we need him, at this point, but another example of a high level player.

As it sits (including Conerway), we have...A high level lead guard. A high level scoring guard. A high level scoring forward. A solid rotational lead guard. A very skilled offensive oriented big. We still have NIL capacity, I'm sure, and we still have opportunity for other high level guys. DeVries appears to be killing it, at this point.

Conerway is not official yet but I am very confident he will be a Hoosier.

I think IU is going to land Tayton Conerway. In addition, I expect Jasai Miles (North Florida, 6'6" wing, two years eligibility remaining) to be a Hoosier in the near future as well.

That percentage dropped to 39% in conference play. Meaning he was well over 50 during pre-conference.

Maybe...or he might just be working out at TCU because he lives in a suburb of Fort Worth and TCU has really nice facilities. I have been given no indication that he is seriously considering a transfer to the Horned Frogs. I agree with you though, I hope Conerway commits soon! Not so that I am right but because I really like his game and how he'd fit with the existing personnel.

Per the famed Chris on BTBs, he is just working out there as you suggest. He thinks its a done deal to IU. He had posted a pic of himself at TCU.

Lots of Miles to IU talk on the other forums.

Also, Isaiah Swope is now in the portal. I saw his name mentioned as a possible IU target maybe 2 weeks ago.......5 10 guy who is a score first PG. From Indiana, played at ISU and now St. Louis. May have an eligibility issue. Don't know the details of that. Wouldn't think we'd want him if Conerway commits as he would not likely have more than 1 year of eligibility.

I would be surprised if he has any eligibility
 
After watching a couple of videos of him, he is clearly talented. Has a good handle and is quick with good hops. Can get to the rim and finish. He looks like a baller.
Looks to me like the Ospreys really needed scoring out of him, so shot selection may have been lacking sometimes. He has a nice stroke. Expect his 3 pt % to be a lot better on a balanced team with other good shooters. IMO, he will be playing a lot. He is a very good athlete, so he should be able to defend.

Hoosiers need 2-3 athletic wings and a couple nice bigs. Maybe another high school recruit
 
I'm planning on going through available portal players and getting a post up at some point today. My idea was to list out available players that could make sense for the last six roster spots...sorting them by position and then a brief synopsis on why I think the player would make sense to pursue. Of course, I'll try to figure out who IU is actually pursuing and share that as well.

I'm impressed.

Goode makes 8. I feel uncomfortably optimistic about his waiver.
Chaiken and Freeman to fill out the perimeter would give us a really deep 1 thru small ball 4.

Whether my level of excitement reaches the level of unrealistic expectation with a lot of smack talk, depends on the bigs we bring in. I have no doubt that DD has reached out to the Thiam camp and contacted Ruth Bader Ginsburg about Brzovic all in the last 24 hours. Hopefully Brennan is still on the table.
 
Centers--Moustapha Thiam 7-1 three years. Duke Brennan 6-10 Grand Canyon 2 years, Enoch Boakye 6-10 c/pf as decent possibilities. Forwards- Liutauras Lelevicius 6-7 Oregon St. Kimani Hamilto 6-7 High Point, Elyjah Freeman 6-8 3 years, Kevin Overton 6-5 G/F, Jevin Muniz 6-6 FGCU. G/F- Tyrell Ward 6-6 LSU.,Terrance Arceneaux 6-6 Houston. and then HS-Kevin ODIH 6-4,bRADEN hAWTHORNE 6-8, Desmond Briscoe 6-9, and Nyk Lewis 6-1 PG. Any of some kind of combos with these.
