After listening to Dolson's press conference, that could be correct.
Conspiracy theorists will say that was just to keep up appearances.Dolson interviewed McCollum twice and DeVries also had an interview at Iowa before an agreement was reached. Not sure who else said no, but the deal wasn't "done" until this week. ~ Per sources.
Negotiating the next coaches contract when there isn't yet an opening isn't unethical. Woodson knew they could fire him any day they wanted, and how much money they'd have to pay him to do so.Means he wasn't someone who emerged only after everyone else said no.
Dolson did his homework, and contacting a coach under contract (or way more likely his agent) to gauge interest is not to my knowledge illegal, except in the pros, where there are tampering rules. It's not even necessarily unethical. It would be questionable ethics to actually negotiate a contract before an opening exists i.e. Woody retired, but you had better prove that.
Or perhaps a verbal deal was reached just before Woodson “decided to retire.” And that was announced on February 7th.I think from what I’ve heard they’ve been talking some since Atlantis. And sounds like a verbal deal was reached a few weeks ago.
Impossible, because he was like 10th on the list after everybody else told us NO!Means he wasn't someone who emerged only after everyone else said no.

Guys who were clueless all along, just posting rumors like everyone else, now trying other angles for attention.Might have, might not have. Either is ‘possible’, neither is publicly known. Not even worth the click.

Tell us who the 9 were that said “NO”Impossible, because he was like 10th on the list after everybody else told us NO!
You can receive a message that you don’t return or actually answer the call and talk. What is the distinction between "contacted" and "spoke to?"
A interview isn't an offer....or even an enticement. Being butthurt doesn't make it rise to that level, either.Dolson interviewed McCollum twice and DeVries also had an interview at Iowa before an agreement was reached. Who said anything about an offer? Im only pointing out that there was no decision made before this week. I can extend Dolson BOD on why he picked DeVries.A interview isn't an offer....or even an enticement. Being butthurt doesn't make it rise to that level, either.
I thought I heard he talked to Iowa, so much going on the other night, hard to keep up.According to WVU's AD, the only team that DeVries spoke to was Indiana; however, MANY colleges contacted DeVries.
If I call you, and you don't answer and I leave a message, I don't consider that a "contact" but may be splitting hairs. You can receive a message that you don’t return or actually answer the call and talk.
That's nice.......Who said anything about an offer? Im only pointing out that there was no decision made before this week. I can extend Dolson BOD on why he picked DeVries.
OT, "butthurt" is a dumb adjective, and not a word adult men should be using
I suppose I can see it either way.If I call you, and you don't answer and I leave a message, I don't consider that a "contact" but may be splitting hairs.
Maybe I shoulda put a DWS…Tell us who the 9 were that said “NO”
Think I saw that he told them no, or turned it down... but that could've been through an agent or intermediary. Who knows and who cares. After weeks of not knowing, we have our coach and I like what he's said so far. I'm going to enjoy a few weeks of the tournament and enjoy that the search is over and sounds like we have a good hard-working bball coach.I thought I heard he talked to Iowa, so much going on the other night, hard to keep up.
