Good news for those over 50. It will be interesting to watch the uptake as I suspect some will be slow to act. I will likely wait until the six month point.

I would gladly trade this booster approval for a few months if we could get the studies completed and successfully approve the initial Jabs for the younger kids. Lots of anxious parents out there waiting.

Great news. Can’t wait for the next 100.

I got my second booster yesterday and there was no line whatsoever. I think most are going to pass on the 2nd booster shot.

Those with risk should get them. Although the data I saw (perhaps stale) from Israel didn't indicate much of a benefit from an extra booster.

Yeah wish they could get the littlest figured out. I’m waiting until 6 months too, but that’s coming up.

Passing would not be supported by data at this point. I think that we will move to a once a year shot just like the flu shot (which doesn't have the politics-based objections). I am going to wait to the six-month point in hopes that it is the last one until the yearly boosters come.

Sure. Because everyone that got Omicron had obvious symptoms.
No, because most of the people I know and work with are educated and make good decisions. 10% are MAGAts and the other 10% got it from you fine folks.

Doubt that will be the case. I suspect we will see our annual flu shot and Covid shot, perhaps even bundled into one.
I’ve had 3 Covid shots, flu shot and yesterday I got the first of two shingles vaccines. I already had the shingles vaccine shot a few years ago. Now they tell me there’s a new one and I need two shots. The second in two months.

Shingles terrify me. I’ve watched older clients get it. Even though the rash goes away many are in pain the rest of their lives.

I think I got you beat. In a little over a year, I got 3 Covid shots, 2 shingles shots, a flu shot, and a pneumonia shot. I still got Covid about 6 weeks ago. It was mild as Covid goes, but still no fun for a couple of weeks. Now if they’d just come up with that “fountain of youth” shot, we’d be set!

It is coming, I applaud the extra trials and research, but there are a lot of parents that are anxious to get their kids protected.
Protected from what? I am not being snarky or baiting you. Every single member of my household has had Covid. No one (except for me) has ever been vaccinated. And I got Covid 15 months before I was vaccinated. I never get the flu shot and I never get the flu. Everyone else in my family gets the flu shot annually and sometimes they get the flu. Our kids are healthy. They eat well. Are not overweight. Etc etc etc. If anyone looks at the statistics of children and Covid objectively, it’s difficult to ascertain that the vaccine brings any benefit to children. Seems every stat you look at skews itself toward an outcome. Or an assumption. I look forward to a day where this Covid sh*t is as talked about as much as the seasonal flu. Especially when it comes to children. People are freaking obsessed with it.

Less than 20% of the people I know have had Covid
You must not know many people. There are few people I know who have not had it and between work, family and neighbors, I could name off more than 500 people I know personally. Let’s start with my immediate family who lives in three different states. Indiana 6 people), California (5 people) and NC (5 people). Out of 16, 14 have all tested positive at some point. On average, I would say about 1 out of every 2 people have had Covid in my circle. So if less than 20% of the people you know have had it, it would be rare and far below the norm. I would normally call BS here but will take you for your word.

The flu kills more kids than Covid. I guess they are concerned with kids spreading it. I don't know. Seems over the top

Vaccines have no measurable impact on the spread of the coronavirus. Much to many vaccine thumpers dismay. It really hurts the “care for others” talk track.

Because they're a waste of time, too many unknowns, and almost everyone has had COVID.

This logic and science based fact on natural immunity applied to every other virus since the world began except Covid. Money had to be made and then once billions of dollars were made on the vaccines and scare tactics began to wain, only then did we begin to see natural immunity begin to be recognized.

Natural immunity, I believe, only helps with the different mutations, which can be said with the vaccines and boosters.

I've been vaxed and got covid last Oct/Nov. Then tested positive for covid again, this time much worse by the way, in mid January. I would rather not have to go through that whole experience again, given the choice.

Your post, for some reason, made me think. I am totally surprised that some really smart business person hasn't been marketing Covid fall out shelters just like all of the Nuclear fall out shelters during the cold war.... .. Come to think of it, This whole Covid thing has been a different kind of "cold" war hasn't it.

Gotta love a good conspiracy theory.

I am on record here as I think people should be able to do with their body what they think is best. If they want the vaccine, cool. If they don't, don't get it. I also think people should be able to wear a mask if they want.

I'm not cool with people telling how they should live their lives and shaming people one way or the other, either way. If someone wants to wear a mask, let them. If someone wants to get a vaccine, let them. If they don't want to, who am I to tell them how to live. My step-dad died of covid and neither my mom nor both my brothers are vaxed, which is fine by me. It's not my life to live, it's theres.

I just wish people would accept the choices others made and not made everything so personal.

That is fine for choices that don't effect those around you. For smoking and spreading a pandemic, not so much.

Like drinking and driving, there are limits to what people should be able to choose.
