Ohio Mr Basketball. 4 star. Nebraska jumps in and just grabs him. I just don’t get it guys. We aren’t doing anything to improve this team. But Hoiberg comes to Nebraska and is landing decent guys left and right. With their facilities and hiring of Hoiberg, it’s strange to think Nebraska is in a better position to compete then IU is. But with Fred Glass in charge, that isn’t surprising.

Where is he rated a four star? 24/7 has him a three star 180 overall. Rivals lists him as a three star with no overall rating but the number 44 pg.

Maybe he went after the guys he wanted in 19 and is now focused on 20?

We have been offering a lot of good 20 kids in the past two weeks.

Talk to anyone outside the IU bubble and they will tell you we’re an absolute train wreck. It’s crystal clear.

Hoiberg was a great hire. Why can’t we hire a coach like that?

It's possible, just hear me out on this. It's possible they did their due diligence, scouted him in person, watched film on him and decided he wasn't worthy of an offer. I know, it's crazy to think that, but it's possible.

fpeaugh, any chance you could go retire on a horse ranch in the Nebraska area? No one outside of the voices in your head think IU is a train wreck, that folks is crystal clear.

Never heard of him. If he was this great 4 star why was he still available?

Why wasn't OSU interested?

We recruited him before he committed to Cincinnati....maybe, just maybe Arch didn't think he was a good fit??

Since we supposedly didn't even talk to him once he decommitted.

Maybe

I agree. That's why the original post about Nebraska stealing him was dumb.

The circular arguments kindof drive me nuts.

From we need shooters (which was what Quinones was but not Beverly, Harris and this guy Curtis are, at all) to let's stop just giving out wasted 4 year scholarships to fill the roster to WTF why in the hell have we not maximized our yearly scholarships to I hope we never have another Devonte Green to OMG I so want Beverly (who is another Devonte Green, but three years younger), etc.

I get that until Archie starts winning everything he does is going to be picked apart and framed as a complete catastrophe but man...it would be nice if we could collectively stay consistent on what we rip his ass for.

Spot on evaluation.

No, douche, they are not. Train wrecks don’t miss the tourney by a game after getting killed by injuries while bringing in a burger boy the next year.

Disappointing? Sure. Train wreck? Disaster? That’s pure f****** douche talk. Lol

It's this kind of over exaggerating that earns him his drama queen tiara.

You know if TJD would have signed in the spring the narrative would have been complete panic for months on why he waited.

Instead it's OMG when are we going to get some positive recruiting news! This is an absolute dumpster fire led by the worst clown coach in the history of all sports!!!

We were by far the most talented team not in the tourney. And we don’t even have a top 40 recruiting class coming in. It’s a disaster.

Not even close.

Ever heard of a school called UCLA?

I do like your double sided tantrum...this roster is so talented but it needs to have a top five class for next year?

I think you had way too unrealistically high expectations of Romeo as a freshman.

Romeo wasn’t even our best player. People are going to appreciate Romeo and Morgan more when they see us next year though.

So you mentioned UCLA...what happened to their coach? They keep him around and make excuses for it?

We'll definitely miss having a guy who can get a tough bucket at the rim in traffic.

We'll miss the hell out of future Romeo, the one that develops physically and gets his shot worked out that makes him a dynamic, elite scorer vs the one dimensional, right handed slasher that freshman Romeo was.

We're bringing in much more size and bulk in TJD and Brunk...so no more 6'7" post players and a very highly regarded guard prospect that has developed his shot which was the thing that he was dinged for by the gooroos. He's a thick, defensive minded Indiana kid that's a great student and supposedly a great team mate.

You do realize we were 18-4 at the beginning and ending of the season. Something major happened in the locker room that derailed the season. Maybe it was DD and Phinesse's injury? A lot of rumors from Dakich to fan boards are pointing to a certain one and done guy. Who knows. I do know we won't miss the circus he brought.

UCLA was the first team that popped into my head instantly. They supposedly imploded because Alford couldn't manage their egos and the team chemistry was toxic.

Texas had a ton of paper talent.

No, it’s a douche bag carnival until the season begins and adults start assessing this program again...lol

I’m not dogging on coach Miller. I like him from an X and O standpoint.

But he worries me in regards to team building. His recruiting has dried up. And he thought Damezi Anderson was better than Aaron Henry.

No, he wanted Aaron Henry and offered him before he was ranked by the gooroos...back when his offer made people wonder why he would go after an unranked kid.

We don't have unlimited slots. He also offered Anderson and he accepted. Then Archie held on in his back pocket for Romeo.

He held one in his back pocket again for Brooks and missed.

Now he's getting killed for having open schollies and not signing warm bodies in the spring.

You’re going to miss that “circus” a lot when you see the clown show we have next year. Brunk didn’t even start for Butler, yet him and a freshman are going to replace Morgan?

And Franklin is going to replace Romeo?

Just wait...it’s going to get downright ugly next season.

18-4 at the beginning and end of the season but the 12 out of 13 was just effing ugly basketball. Why does it take 13 games/ several weeks to figure out what was wrong. There was a disconnect and it was not handled properly by the head coach. Sugar coat it all you want. A shit is still a shit. The honeymoon is over. It doesn’t take years to build a basketball program. Something just isn’t/ wasn’t right. We shall see in the near future if it has been resolved.

Exactly how did Archie mishandle the disconnect - and what should have he done differently? Please be specific. Serious question.

Really? You’re smart ass responses don’t help, “please be specific” - FO.how did he not handle it correctly? By not fixing it by game 5..then game 10..then 3 more. I like Archie and want him to do well but CMON man..it is ok to be critical sometimes and especially when it’s deserving

I guess the rumors are probably exaggerated, but something happened in that locker room that turned us into UCLA in January.

So, IU pays the coach 3.5 mil for these results with talent and you want an anonymous message board poster to tell you the issue? Alright, here we go, we have been told Archie uses the bench for disciplinary reasons, not true. Someone should have seen the pine last year, not sure who, as I live in Iowa and have no connections to the IU basketball program, however, it doesn't take a coach making 3.5 mil a year to figure out last years IU team was disconnected and a complete effing mess. NO, and I mean NO good coach loses 12/13 with the talent IU that had last year. Now, the same group are talking IU will be in the dance next year? WTF? Some IU fans are delusional. 12 of 13 is effing ugly basketball, have I mentioned that.

You watched the games, didn't you? So, who should have sat? And who should have played in their place?
