Conwell is the real deal. Watched him at ISU last year. IMO he was the best player on a team loaded with outstanding players. But 2 mil a year? No thanks.

It would be interesting to see the "salaries" of all the various impactful players on the S16 teams this year. I suspect most of them are, or will be soon, in that 7 figures range. I want IU to look like the Florida, Duke, Alabamas of the world...soon. So if that means a couple mill for a guy like Conwell...assuming he fits DeVries style and program... then so be it...and bring on a handful more of them!

Agreed...I'll be glad to have gotten him just this year, I suspect. Can't stress how poor an overall college coach, and program manager, Woodson was, or seemed to be.

Thats already been tried at IU....check the shooting stats the last couple of seasons.

I don’t know enough about how this works, but I’m thinking that with the new Revenue Share, the NIL will be a little different.
I thought the NIL was just a side hustle that the players/agents worked out with the groups with the NIL $, not the University. The University will be determining the Rev Share, and the player is allowed to get their own NIL agreement.
I think if the University only offers the Rev Share and a position on the team, and the player doesn’t want to come because they can’t muster up “enough” NIL by themselves/agent, then so be it. Might lose some players, but it should be the University’s stance that they want TEAM players. The $ is just one more thing to blind them.

I’d be surprised if Enright was the only PG DeVries brought in. He sounds more like a backup than a starter. Wouldn’t mind a combination of Enright and another PG like Peterson or Jackson as the starter.

On the other hand, if Conwell’s on his way to Bloomington, with a $1.5-$2 million price tag, then Enright might HAVE to be the starter at PG.
