He is right. But I'd be very surprised if Trump agrees with this approach.
I honestly don't think that he relishes the Ukrainian deaths. But I honestly do think that he sits back, watches them happen, and thinks "Hey Zelenskyy, are you ready to take my deal yet?" And so long as Zelenskyy doesn't, then he'll not only continue applying the heat...he'll find new ways to turn it up.

I'm pretty sure they have enough reserves to last a while before the stoppage takes full effect.
I'm sure some areas would struggle, but satellite information is still being provided to Ukraine.
I'm not going to get caught up in the panic I'm sure Ukraine would like to induce to help their cause.
I'm all in favor of providing as much aid as Ukraine needs, but I know if I was in Ukraine's shoes, I'd try to paint as dire a picture as I can to get the aid turned back on.

Reportedly Vance will take the proposed terms to Russia for their agreement. That won’t be easy but we’ll see.
Russia has to like the idea of losing sanctions. Of course this is a cease fire and not a "final" deal, so I wouldn't let loose sanctions until the final deal. But who knows what we'll do. Good news for a start, but wars often have several false peaces until the real one comes.
