Worked together. Used to race cars back in the day. He’s never done anything to me that would suggest he’s not serious. I still see him when I’m back in b-town. He’s been at IU for 30 plus years.

Strange coincidence. After the Illinois game Matt Norlander was on CBS Sports talking about Woodson being canned after a couple more games. Not right now but soon he stated. He must have had input from someone but no idea who it would be. Maybe someone with authoritative information or maybe just an optimist’s dream.
Let’s hope not….nothing worse than hiring an interim. Let him coach the rest of the season then go on a search for the next coach. I wonder if all these idiots that thought anyone could step on the sideline in Bloomington and win have if figured out yet?

Firing him now puts a big program's name out there that we are going to be hiring and gives all coaches the chance to let IU know they are interested. It also gives the school time to prepare and we are hiring first, so should get our choice. This season is a wasted one anyway. I think it's going to happen and he's going to be gone, but I don't think it makes us look any worse doing it now.

Speaking of new coaches the Belichik deal with UNC is strange. He has a press conference announcing he is accepting the job and now he apparently hasn’t signed the contract.

True and I think it will regardless. But, it also gets it done and makes the statement "this is not acceptable for IU bball." I don't think this team will right itself enough to even make the tourney, but one thing Woodson's teams have done is rebound and play for him. I don't want to see us go on a run or win the BTT and then start having a "discussion".
