2026 schedule

We ducked UConn… and here I thought IUFB was on the rise. vbg

Maybe UConn is ducking us...

At any rate, there's little good reason to want to play them there...

In my opinion, our non-conference schedule should..., Number 1, be primarily predicated on a lowest wear and tear and the most probable Win..; Number 2, the highest probable impact on our both long and short term recruiting...

Also, "in my opinion", the strength of schedule issue (in regard to the non-conference schedule) is actually a non-issue..., due to the Fact that our In-Conference Big Ten Schedule will always be against a close to 50/50 split of top twenty and top forty opponents (aside from p u)..., year in year out...

If we Win the bulk of our regular season schedule we'll always either A, make the Playoffs or B, end up playing the type of Bowl match up that everyone clamors for in the non-conference but when such a match up can only help us (recruiting exposure-wise) and not hurt us by tanking the season before it's really begun...

Preach on, brother. 👍

The Big Ten should schedule like the SEC. 8 conference games. 4 non-conference games and always, always remember to schedule your “get well” game around the 10th or 11th game of the year against an absolute pud.
Bama does this every single season.
And Paul Finebum and that bearded boob who went to Mississippi State and works for Barstool Sports are always whining about strength of schedule.

Not sure who the AD was that scheduled that game but IU had no business playing at UCONN.
Had nothing to gain and a whole lot to lose.
In 2014, the game was scheduled for 2020. The 2020 game got cancelled (UConn cancelled their whole season) and rescheduled to 2026. Now the 2026 game is cancelled as we saw and not being rescheduled.

The current coach and AD are cleaning up some old scheduling.

I never agreed with Indiana traveling to Western Kentucky to play. They also traveled to FIU and played a game.

There's absolutely zero to gain and everything to lose. Those teams should come to Bloomington, not the other way around.

Indiana has traveled to MAC stadiums, it's goofy scheduling. I hope those days are over!!

"Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." (Winston Churchill)

One major reason both schools dropped that series was because no matter who actually won the game both teams invariably incurred a major injury or two that adversely affected their overall play for the rest of their season(s), often turning a once highly promising seasons into a sub-500 ones...

I hope we never restart that series...

It's a wear and tear issue... Each additional game against a near peer is like adding the stress of physically surviving another car crash to the schedule...

With the half step away from the NFL level of physicality of our game in, game out Big Ten schedule (not to mention the additional games of the Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoffs) the Very Last thing you should want to do is add another game with that level of wear and tear on the body to the schedule... The inevitable negative results shouldn't be a major surprise if we're foolish enough to once again add them or another team like them...

I agree, but I do hope that we keep those Notre Dame games.
