RFK to HHS

No he’s not. You have comprehension issues and or mad bias.
I think you two could have a rational and productive conversation here (actually, have already done it well) but it would be a lot better to drop the shitlib/MAGA labels and personal stuff.

I think you have a good faith position and Marv is pushing you on the margins. I believe you that you are not anti-vaxx but skeptical of the COVID vax. RFK Jr. clearly is skeptical, wants more transparency, but has said he won't take vaccines off the table.

It could be, though, that having a prominent person like him as Sec. of HHS will further depress vaccine #'s among the general populace to a dangerous level. Remember for most vaccines to work well, they have to be administered to a certain % of the population.

So even if he doesn't push law or policy that affects the vax rates, his attitudes might be legitimized in a way just from his appointment so as to cause harm to the US (and maybe the world).

Here's a recent write up:

Thanks for the article. No, he isn't anti-vaxx. I mean he says so, what in below would possibly mean he is anti-vaxx:

when asked if there were any safe and effective vaccines on the market, Kennedy told podcaster Lex Fridman, there are "no" vaccines in that category.
Fridman pushed Kennedy on the polio vaccine—which is widely considered one of the other greatest medical advances of the 20th century and has been estimated to save more than 1.5 million lives and prevented paralysis in more than 20 million children—but Kennedy suggested the vaccine killed more people than it saved.

Even better would be smallpox. Modern humans seem to have no idea of the historical death toll of smallpox. Smallpox killed over 300 million people in the 20th century alone, before its eradication. In 70 years. It was around for over 3,000 years. Killed Egyptian pharohs, Greek scholars, Roman statesmen, and countless soldiers in every army ever, before the 1970s.

You think war is bad? Smallpox says "hold my beer". Smallpox's historical death toll dwarfs the death toll of all wars in human history, combined, by a factor of over a thousand.

Every drug has a risk-benefit ratio. The risk is indeed never zero, but the benefits can be enormous.

It must be compared, always, to an unvaccinated control group, which typically has much higher risks of severe outcomes and none of the benefits of enhancing immunity, at least until after what may be a severe outcome.

Should you vaccinate for a common cold? No. The benefits are minimal. But COVID? Damn straight. Saved MILLIONS of lives worldwide.

Did you thank Donald for saving millions of lives?

I don't remember Archie having many fans but there was definitely a Crean cult. Some of the conversations I had with those clowns were hysterical. "Cmon dbm it's not his fault. No one could've known Syracuse would play a zone."
You know, that game was the turning point with me for Crean. I was very sympathetic of him and appreciative of the fact he started from ground zero.

But that game was so inexplicable to me. Not that we lost, but that we had zero - ZERO - clue how to attack that zone. And he'd faced that same zone countless times when he coached Marquette.

To this day, it still pisses me off and it's just.... inexplicable is the only word to describe it.

At least the man knew how to recruit - and use - 3 point shooters.

I had the vaccine, Feb of 2021. Got covid anyway 8 months later in October. I was able to get antibody treatment. Even so it ramped up fast, enough to make me nervous, but for only a couple days but then eased off. I was glad I had the vaccine and treatment.
Got vaxxed again that winter, then got covid again the next fall, a mild case.
Last fall I said the hell with another dose! No covid.
This fall, again said the hell with it. So far so good.
Mixed bag... But glad I had it before that first one.
Pretty much my experience. I had no boosters after the first vaccines and haven't got Covid I had it after I had the original vaccine.

I'm not sure the initial one had anything to do with it, since I never got Covid before that.

what is the point of arguing with the idiots on here? It has to get old for you, I don't agree with you politically, but you are so much more informed and rational than these morons. these Trump nominations are at best ridiculous at worst they are dangerous. read an article tonight that MTG thinks Gaetz will prosecute Fauci for crimes against humanity. we are a country of uneducated easily influenced idiots, sad to watch
lmao High praise from an alcoholic/drunk

Of course. Supporting vaccine development was the best thing he ever did. But then he found political gain in pushing wackadoodle ideas, like sticking UV lamps up your butt and putting bleach in your veins. Like a cleaning!

Well.....what was your figure on lives saved? 14.4 M? If 1 person died from bleach in his veins, the Donald would still be up 14.399,999. Meanwhile, most would have been dead if your hero, Fauci, had been in charge. As I recall, he said it would take YEARS to come up with an effective vaccine, if one was possible. You might even say he was a denier.

What other president in history can make a claim to having been responsible for personally saving 14M lives?

I find it very embarrassing that there are so many self-described Republicans that "know" so much that just isn't so. I'm hoping at least one of them will eventually understand that.

The leap that the far right took from the Covid vaccine to all vaccines are bad is wild. Look, you don’t want to get the Covid vaccine or flu shot, fine. But adults not immunizing their children from polio, measles, etc. is neglect at best.
Who does that? Who thinks all vaccines are bad?

Or is this just another caricature of MAGA that the media has sold you?

I'm not saying there aren't individuals who believe that - you can find crazies anywhere.

Crean was 0-4 against Boeheim. So beating that zone wasn't something he ever figured out. But that team should never have struggled that much.

Regarding checking the fact checkers, the scientific method does that. If you fake a scientific study, others will analyze it, repeat it, get different results, and refute your alleged "facts". Every time.

It's a mindset that is perpetually self-correcting.

Vaccine "skeptic" is a stupid phrase. A skeptic is a person who requires valid evidence to reach a conclusion regarding a hypothesis. I am a skeptic. Any scientist is. Any good detective, policeman, judge, or lawyer is.

Denying the legitimacy of valid evidence is not skepticism, it is denialism.
Wow there are other scientists on the WC- be still my heart and well done sir! Science ain’t finite math, that much we know!

From trannies wanting to mutilate the balls of little kids to antivaxxers

Can’t we ever stop in the middle anymore
The middle is still here- I’m convinced the majority of Americans are fiscal conservative and socially liberal- neither party fits the bulk of us. Whichever party heads back to the middle will have a decade of winning.

It also just might, maybe, open the door for a true vested member of leadership to publish the results and findings of all studies, in a totally transparent way, that the historical legacy "message" may either be confirmed or revealed as the world being lie too, or at best led astray for the personal betterment of adim officials. +/- I'm game to find out... You all?

Not remotely similar. I’m so glad I’ve never been invited to join the dream team. It’s not for me. Especially will you being the designated coach. No offense.
Hard not to take offense to be honest. The Dream team is the culmination of my life’s work. Are we happy trump won. Yes. But in truth we were hoping for Harrisageddon. Woke on roids as we were prepared to go to war. Not figuratively. Literally. Sort of rudderlesss now.

I'm good with transparency. I'd like to see all UFO files opened, all JFK redactions removed, etc.

But I worry that:

Seriously, I think everything “we’ve” been seeing is likely advanced technology being tested by the U.S. military. The whole UFO/UAP shenanigans are a smokescreen to make us envision the impossible while new technology is developed and tested.

The physics of interstellar travel are just too daunting. Warp drives are great for Captain Kirk.

Or stories leaked to **** with the Russians and Chinese.

You know damned well they’re not buying aliens.

Yeah, but we got that advanced technology from extraterrestrials we have locked up in Area 51.

Welp. RFK Jr is arguably the most progressive man on the planet. As long as he isn't able to do some of his extreme left stuff, like banning vaccines, then I am cool with this this. I remember not that long ago when the Obama administration tried to do a lot the same things RFK wants to do and the right flipped their shit. Good to see progress always wins as usual. But again, hopefully the conservatives reign him in a bit.
