Their defense will never get the credit it deserves. It should've been a historically good defense but their offense was so awful, the defense was always on the field. They still somehow kept teams from scoring. If UM had a slightly above average offense, they would've won the title.

Well his ACL was torn anyway, so we’re not too far off.
Rourke described it as broken at one time. Said bone was what pushed the nail or something. Maybe I heard it wrong, it was in some postgame lockerroom video stuff.
I'm not sure what has been embellished? I assumed it was a very well-known thing that his thumb had a fracture. He had screws put in and with his type of injury, you can usually return within 2-3 weeks. He came back in 2. Maybe I was reading things all wrong, but this is the first I have heard anyone say they thought it was something different.
I also understood it to be a broken thumb from someone inside the organization. That is why they put the screws in. Hard to imagine him coming back that fast but he must be one tough hombre.
Ok, so I'm not losing my mind. The screws are usually out in a couple of weeks and are there to make it heal faster. Most of us wouldn't find any need to go under the knife and would just put a split on which is a longer recovery period. Assuming it was fractured, he did come back on the short end, but I imagine it wasn't close to 100%.
I'm so confused. Are you saying it was not broken? So the two screws were an urban legend? Kinda like Biden not having brain rot or Trump being American first? Like those types of things?

We have a talented bunch of transfers coming in to fill in positions of need. Many are from P4 programs where they were starters. Of those, Zen Michalski is probably the least experienced per PT that we have enrolling. Coach Cignetti & staff have done a great 1st step in preparing our team for this coming year. Now it's Coach Owings & his staff turn to increase winter strength & conditioning. Go Hoosiers!
We will see it the Power four transfers make more difference this year. Having as much experience as last year's transfers but with more talent and experience in bigger games may make a difference.
The schedule looks tougher in 2025 and to have another very good season will require more talent so we will see if the transfers improve the team enough.
