Reading the topics on this board...

Facts are what are lacking on this forum. This season had plenty of facts. And one being in year two we had a major mid season collapse and missed the tourney again. Read Glass’s rah rah speech when miller was hired about contending for championships and winning the big ten. Nothing we’ve seen has us going in that direction. Fact - this team got worse throughout the year not better. If you want a nice court rushing vicirty every now and then , you might as well have kept Crean. Fact- blue bloods don’t tolerate this BS and neither should fans. And to quote A Few Good Men “ You can’t handle the truth”. So next year when we suck again , let’s talk more about facts.

Like I said we will see next year. If he turns it around I’ll be the first one to admit I was wrong. But nothing about this season should give any fan a warm and fuzzzy about next season. Anyone who has watched or seen blue bloods over the years know they don’t go through all of this like us. We are not a blue blood anymore, if we want to be , the administration has to act like it. I think Crean and Miller are good guys , doesn’t mean they’re right for IU.

Or dumb fans could be people who cheered the Crean hiring , kept defending for 9 years , and then start the same defending of new coach, and continue to allow a once storied program to continue its nose dive. Let’s continue this 15 years rebuild and “hoping “ for a better outcome. However, hope shouldn’t be our strategy. Maybe we should switch conferences and become a mid major. Then we could live up to your low expectations.

Your mom just called the four of you up from the basement for breakfast.

At this point Archie’s performance is the same as Creans, period end of discussion.

I’d like to know who was defending Crean in year 6 on this forum, they won’t admit it, but my guess is it’s the same people arguing Archie today!!

Bruce Weber? Lol what a terrible idea. Dude went to the championship with bill selfs players he sucks. Beard is the only one you would have a shot at on that list

Yeah bc we should all be jazzed from winning this game in the NIT. Geez....that’s the type attitude that allows us to be content with sweet 16 results.

Yes, I'm sure you wouldn't be critical in any way if Indiana had lost last night...

You don’t really know that again this is just speculation, did we offer $10 million to anyone? Doubt it.

Seriously? What coach on that list would leave their comfortable spot to come to the IU coaching meat-grinder (Archie would make 5 fired HC's and 1 interim in 20 years)? I mean, if we are willing to cut bait with a guy like Miller, who is well respected and highly thought of after 2 seasons, other than a large pile of money and a challenge, what would bring them here?

Wright and Bennett already have comfy, well paying gigs at solid basketball schools. Under those circumstances (firing a fine coach after just 2 seasons) I can't see them considering coming here without doubling their pay (which would be 5-6 million a season), and even that might not be enough.

In Weber and Huggins, you have a 62 year old and 65 year old who won't be coaching anywhere 5-7 years from now. Weber's biggest success in the Big 10 was riding the coattails of Bill Self's recruits @ Illinois, and who was 61-61 in the Big 10 his final 7 years with the Illini. Huggins is a much better coach than Weber, but @ 65 he is @ his destination gig coaching his Alma Mater and is already making 500k more than Miller so he makes no sense.

Stevens/Donovan/Brinks truck scenarios are pie in the sky wishful thinking, as both are enjoying successful careers coaching @ the pinnacle of their profession.

So that leaves Beard, who is basically where Archie Miller was 2 years ago, except he is getting it done at a school and conference somewhere in between the ACC/Big 10/SEC level and the A10 that Archie left.

I don't see the rush to change TBH.

I don’t know but we sure as hell didn’t offer $8-$10 million dollars like we should have, we offered the same as what Ohio State offered Holtmann that makes no sense at all. Wouldn’t you expect Ohio State to pay way more for their football coach than IU would their football coach?

Again- Bruce Weber has won 4 conference championships in 2 different power 5 conferences.

8-10 million are you serious? What makes you think IU was or is going to dole out that kind of money for a coach? And your saying we should have rolled out that kind of money? Who was going to pay for that?

There you go again with the lies Ordy. No one on here supported Crean through year 9. You're making shit up as you rant.

It was nice to see the response after halftime. At least the kids acted like they give a sh!t.

Hell half the dumbass clowns on this board are already in the root against Archie mode hoping and wishing for Donavon or Stevens at 10 million a year. HAHAHAHA . Not happening you idiots!

Get on board for a moment. Archie has stepped into a tough league with a fanbase that says win or gtfo.

IU has not been relevant in a while get over it. You wanna go fishing again for another coach? Unless some big donor rolls up with a 100 million dollar brinks truck Donavon or Stevens ain't coming. Every other resume falls short!

Either this guy learns on the job and we give him a chance or we roll the dice for another and wait for another how many years. Sheeesh
Every other resume falls short? If you really believe that you need to take a break from this for awhile.

If you supported Crean after year 5 you were delusional. To quote Mr Robert Zimmerman “ you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows”. Crean was obvious , Miller gets higher marks based off of defense. Sometimes the writing is in the wall. If next year is similar to this year, the alarms should be going off.

As if I haven't already destroyed you on the football board you want to come over here for some now?
