Recruiting isn't just done by coaches. If you don't believe all the talking heads and their love fest for certain coaches and programs doesn't impact players, you're simply being naive. The 24/7/365 talk of Saban/Bama, Smart/UGA, Day/OSU, etc. has to influence kids.
Congrats to all those who have top programs year in and year out and have won a natty. Job well done.
However, based on 2024 and previous seasons at previous schools, give me Coach Cig!

It is hard to rate teams and coaches but even though I think Cignetti is very good one year isn't enough for others that don't look at his record before IU. We don't know if this staff can overcome all obstacles at IUFB to move them to the top of the B1G. People at Purdue thought Brohm was going to take PU there after beating OSU but he couldn't. I like to think coach Cignetti is better than Brohm.
When you are born on 3rd base, you are forever suspect. He never had to fight his way from the bottom up: he took the elevator.
He might have been born on 3rd base but he just recently crossed home plate with the roster he put together and developed
How much of it was actually him? There are a lot of advantages coaching at OSU. There are a lot of coaches that could do better than he has.
