Ramsey...

I'm not sure what to think about that stat. Peyton was also dead last in the Big 10 in yards per completion which means those were probably dumps to the last outlet. (Behind the LOS, out to the flat, rb standing at the LOS, etc. etc.). Someone posted the last thing I wanna see from the offense this year...Thats one thing I don't want to see is all the dumps. Get the ball downfield!

I doubt he'd be leading in passer rating if those were just all dumps. I'll agree that Ramsey went to the short throw too often, but I think what this says is that he may have been going to the check down receiver too soon as he was probably making some longer connections by hanging onto the ball a little more. I think Ramseys strength was making throws on the move which is probably correlated with this stat as well.

I think it says more about our offensive line than anything:

Having to check down quickly to shorter routes because the QB was getting pressure too quickly. I mean, there is a certain contingent of IU fans that want to see us throw the bomb on every down and do away with the RBs all together. They are out there. I hear these people in the stands.
You want that, you better give the QB a lot of time to throw.

Sure, those are fun, but my favorite offensive play is a feint to the diving RB, followed by a quick slant throw to a TE or Slot that is then taken for a long gain after the catch. Beauty.

Cmon man bomb on every play? Thats stretching it (no pun intended) don't you think? You watched what I watched last year and it was ALOT of what I said, dumps. Anyways its a stat and I was trying to figure it out. A year under his belt and smarter from it I'm sure. Maybe the S&C guys can get this guy some pops with some new and improved arm strength. We'll see.

Trust me...we have fans that are that stupid. There are idiots that complain because we don’t have 40 + yard passes in every down. I hear them on game day.

I agree that Ramsey’s passing game can use some work but our OL was terrible. Terrible. Peyton Manning would be running for his life looking to dump the ball anywhere he could behind such poor protection. That’s not a question of “pops” or “strength.” That’s a question of running for your life.

If you ain't first, you're last.
You haven't conquered fear until you drive with a tiger in the car.
You aren't good at football unless you pass for 40+ yards on every play.
