Quad 1 win!

Dean Smith Center is such a better venue to watch a game.
Really? Hate it. Not defending AH, which looks awesome on TV, but has very few good seats and lots of bad ones, but Dean Dome just has no character aside from looking like I ate an ice blue snowcone and then threw up all over the arena. Big empty dome built to squeeze in a ton of seats. Have you been in Carmichael? A crime they don't play a game or 2 a year in there, like some of their throwaway holiday non-con games. NC State was doing that with Reynolds, which is also great. What a special period in the ACC when you were playing games in Carmichael, Reynolds and Cameron on Tobacco Road and cool that they are all still around.

I am not saying the Dean Center building is awesome. But the sight lines are very good for an arena that holds 20k+. Like you said, AH character is awesome, but very few percentage of seats are “good”. Reynolds’s is awesome and State mens BB should consider going back. They can’t fill PNC and Reynolds’s would give them a true HC advantage. I have not been to Carmichael

Go to Carmichael. Probably my favorite venue to be in empty. Really, really cool. Their women play there, so if you're in NC (are you? where? I live in Rock Hill outside of Charlotte but didn't recall that you were down here) go see them. Their women are pretty good too, but it's a very cool arena to be in empty and gorgeous how it's nestled down in campus. I was doing a project on campus many years ago and wandered over there, with no one but a couple other kids in the building shooting. Walked all around and even convinced the kids to let me take a couple shots.

Remember when many people on this board wanted Holtman as our coach when Lil’ Archie was pacing the court for IU?
Vividly. And those same whiners also wanted Chris Mack. Several also spoke glowinginly of Juwan Howard too.

Not to mention all the whiners that repeatedly said we'd be sooooo much better if we'd just fire Crean and hire Archie Miller.

Now they've moved on to the next shiny new toy: the Chris Beard/Dusty May/ISU's coach combo platter. All IU has to do is PICK ONE. durrrrrr. IU is incompetent! Durrrr. Fire Quinn Buckner! Durrrrrr. Investigate his Financials!!! Durrrrrr. There has to be something going on here! Durrrr. It's easy to win at IU if you just hire the right guy! Durrr.

They want the next Jay Wright or coach K, but are unwilling to give them the kind of time it took those guys to build the program they admire so much.

end of the season, which I kinda like and kinda don't. Can't decide where I fall on that.
I would prefer it reflect the rating at the time we played them.

I look at it like this: If we beat a team that is (currently) top 10, and then they go on a losing streak and fall apart, we beat them when they were top 10. And, visa versa: if we beat a team that’s 0-10, and then they win 15 games in a row, we beat an 0-10 team, not a 15-10 team.

There’s the old saying (and I paraphrase), it’s not who you play but when you play them and when they play you.

It usually takes the great coaches some time. Otoh, giving a coach time very, very, very rarely means that the coach ends up being great.

I’m sure I’ve missed it, but I’m not sure I’ve seen us commit to the movement as consistently, for as long as we did to end the game tonight.

There were also some other wrinkles I haven’t seen with Malik pinning his man off some post entry passes to Kelel.

Obviously Trey making some threes made a big difference too. But I contend that he probably makes those because the offense is moving him around more, and those shots came in more rhythm as a result.
X not running the point led to TG/GC/AL running the point. None are natural shot makers so rotation is the only option. I like it when those three are on the floor because they have to run a system versus dribbling for 15 seconds at the top of the key and then trying to make a 1:1 highlight play to the rim. That’s so hard to watch!

Makes sense. But 100% of the coaches you fire are considered failures.

And I will concede that I never thought hiring a guy in his 60's was the right move, mainly because the ceiling on that hire is too low. Even if Woodson turns out to be just as good as Knight at his peak (and he hasnt), your chances of winning a championship or even making the final 4 before he retires are pretty low. And then you're looking for a new coach anyway.

But I see no point in running on here to post about it 15 times a day, like some do. He's our coach. I hope it works out.

LOL!! What did Durr do in his one season a couple years ago to draw so much anger?? Played well vs Edey and Trevion when TJD was in foul trouble in a win.

Okay, he did have that suspension on the NU trip along with Lander, Stewart, X and can’t remember the fifth guy to help blow a game up there. I blame X, the great leader of men he was/is…”led” them right out of the hotel night before the game.

Heh. I wasn't talking about Michael Durr. Good one though. Solid work there.

You watch us play: you think there's any chance Mike Woodson is the next Jay Wright or Coach K? I think I support Woodson more than most, but the glaring lack of fundamentals is unacceptable, imo. And the roster construction. I'll bet in their 3rd years, even if they weren't winning, K and Wright's teams were playing smart and hard most of the time. I think Woody has done some really good things with the fanbase and scheduling and would like to see his time end amicably whenever that is, but I feel confident in saying he's not the guy that will get us back to competing regularly at the top of the B10 or nationally. Wish I felt otherwise.

The team played PO'd defense the second half of the second half and it totally deflated OSU. That's where it starts -- with defense.
I have to credit the staff's set play call to Leal in the corner too. OSU did not expect that at all and he was open by at least 10-feet (look familiar?). AL also did great on the rebound & free throws, not to mention a steal that could have ended on a Ware dunk.

I never thought there was a chance of that. If Woodson was the only coach that had been treated that way, I wouldn't have a point. But these other shiny new toy posters have treated every coach like that except Kelvin Sampson, and he wasn't around long enough to get the business, but he probably would have.

Woodson is a placeholder pick. I don't care for that choice, but that's what they chose to do. Rooting for losses and blathering about the next coach nonstop is useless.

thought I saw in the box score Leal was 3-6 on FTs for the game, but he made the 2 at the end to seal it.

Nice road win against a team that is basically on IU's level, if not slightly below. It does not change the big picture about the condition nor the needs of the program. Its a breather. Good job to the players and the coaches.

Woodson is doing fine. He put together a pickup team around Trayce and Race to get to the tournament two years. Now he is developing his own team. Next year we will be good.

1: Cupps
2: Galloway, McNeeley
3: Mgbako, Leal
4: Reneau
5: Ware, Sparks

So you have the core guys all coming back? Gotcha.

I can think of at least 1 exception to that!
Ol who is gonna pay my 25k fine if I answer that question Sampson???

If you haven't watch him explode last night, you need to. Oh what could have been....
