He might bounce off of a couple rosters then head overseas before selling cars in WL.He won’t make it in the NBA. Barely 6’0 and not a super athlete
ehhh, I wouldn't.Rumour is MM is asking for a million.
Was “drinking buddy” of said coach slurring his words between hic-cups at the time? While the check isn't blank, the majority of this is true. From what I'm told, Duke is the only school he's willing to leave for. This comes from a drinking buddy of a PU coach.
And I hear that buggy comes with stereo cowbells as further enticement.I've heard that Eastern Mennonite University has thrown a blank check in front of him along with a pre-furnished loft above the sheep barn...., And... unlimited use of his own buggy 24/7...
It'll be tough offer to beat...
Supposedly there's a immediate Coaching opportunity available when he graduates too...

It’s how Amish are trained to run when they think a tick is stuck in butt. Younger sisters traditionally remove them with a hot kitchen match to the hind quarters. It’s a family affair in more ways than one.
They all seem to be introducing more cowbell to recruits now.And I hear that buggy comes with stereo cowbells as further enticement.
When all else fails, more cowbells beaten with a stick. They all seem to be introducing more cowbell to recruits now.
Annual spring ritual. Purdue’s BT POY All American can’t make the NBA. Wash and repeatYou may be right, but I would guess otherwise. At 6'0' 170 lbs., I don't think that Smith has much of an NBA future.
Yes, but his arm length to stature ratio is in proportion to that more commonly found in monkeys. Plus, his extreme flexibility allows for bodily contortions similar to that of Old World primates. Both are assets for assists, an important statistic in the formula of winning basketball. You may be right, but I would guess otherwise. LMFAO.
Not sure Heide would start. No idea where actually. Starters are likely smith, cox, Loyer, TKR, cluff with Jacobson, Harris, and Heide off the bench. Then have Benter, Burgess (if healthy) and West. Not sure I've seen it posted here, but Cam Heide is in the portal. I listened to the Sleepers episode and they had an interesting take. Said Heide was playing at their Rec Center with Braden Smith as recently as this week and that he and Smith are extremely close. Thought it odd that both he and Colvin would hit the portal as 1 leaving would open the door to the position and PT for the other. Their comment was Heide leaving makes no sense, unless he knows Smith is likely out the door also. With Smith, and their big man add, they viewed PU as a top 5 program and likely F4 contender next year so basically felt Heide was walking from an opportunity to be a starter on a top 5, F4, conference champion type season.
Didn't Heide outperform Cox pretty significantly over the last half of the year? Not sure Heide would start. No idea where actually. Starters are likely smith, cox, Loyer, TKR, cluff with Jacobson, Harris, and Heide off the bench. Then have Benter, Burgess (if healthy) and West.
I wouldn’t say out perform. They are very different players, but inconsistent. Heide really played well to end the year though. Cox did as well. One was a true freshman, one a RS sophomore. Wish Heide had stayed, but he wouldn’t have started.Didn't Heide outperform Cox pretty significantly over the last half of the year?
Funny how the guy wouldn't have started... after he leaves. Not the opinion of others.I wouldn’t say out perform. They are very different players, but inconsistent. Not funny, just par for the course. If Edey would have left for a bigger bag, they would have said he was just tall.Funny how the guy wouldn't have started... after he leaves. Not the opinion of others.
Who would he have started over? This opinion has nothing to do with Heide leaving and everything to do with the current roster and a year of evidence.Funny how the guy wouldn't have started... after he leaves. Not the opinion of others
Doesn’t PU have good NIL?I don't claim to be an insider or have access to those in the know. But I can share that I had lunch today with a regular group that typically gets together once a month, or so. Today we were joined by a "friend of a friend." This guy appeared to be very well connected to recruiting in IN/IL/MI/OH/KY. He did not come off as a blowhard, someone looking for attention. With most of what he did share, he was very measured with his comments. There was one topic, however, where he was very confident. He said that there's a 90% chance that Braden Smith will leave Purdue for major NIL dollars. Smith realizes that he doesn't have much (or any) future in the NBA. He plans to play overseas but doesn't think that he'll want to do that for more than five years. He realizes that his one opportunity for a major financial windfall is right now. He'll never have this opportunity again. He, or his agent, have been approached with offers of mind-numbing amounts of NIL bucks.
Take it for what it's worth...
Heide played mostly at the 4. Cox at the 2/3. Heide got pushed out as a starter with Cluff pushing TKR back to the 4. He wasn’t going to get more minutes.Didn't Heide outperform Cox pretty significantly over the last half of the year?
Great news for us. Why would we want him to leave early for the nba? Hasn’t seemed to workout for your program….Annual spring ritual. Purdue’s BT POY All American can’t make the NBA. Wash and repeat
Was there a loophole for Edey? I thought foreign players (Canada) couldn’t receive NIL money.Purdue will step up, I'm sure his agent is getting offers. they found a way to pay Edey they will find a way to pay him
I think the "work" just had to be done of Canadian soil. It just caused problems but could be done. He probably lost out on money because of this though. Was there a loophole for Edey? I thought foreign players (Canada) couldn’t receive NIL money.
Ha. My sister in law teaches at EMU. And no, she isn't Mennonite. Despite the name, the school is kinda like IU East.I've heard that Eastern Mennonite University has thrown a blank check in front of him along with a pre-furnished loft above the sheep barn...., And... unlimited use of his own buggy 24/7...

I knew they got around it somehow by him being paid in Canada but didn’t know the part that they played a game in Canada to make it work. They played a game in Toronto. UK did the same thing in the Bahamas for OO.
It’s because he was here on a student visa. Those kids can’t work for income. There are some limited exceptions e.g. specific types of work done at their school. They can’t even get a job bagging groceries for spending money. Kids get in trouble for this all the time because they just don’t understand how limiting the rules are.Was there a loophole for Edey? I thought foreign players (Canada) couldn’t receive NIL money.
Yeah, it was Gonzaga maybe? It was a nationally televised game and they probably droned on about his Mom the entire time.I knew they got around it somehow by him being paid in Canada but didn’t know the part that they played a game in Canada to make it work.
Oh yes Edey’s mom. I doubt they feature her on Grizzlies telecasts.Yeah, it was Gonzaga maybe? It was a nationally televised game and they probably droned on about his Mom the entire time.
Other than some Pacer games and GS when TJD was playing, I don't watch much NBA. The Morant dude strikes me as equal parts dumbass and all star.Oh yes Edey’s mom. I doubt they feature her on Grizzlies telecasts.
They have a ton of Ja drama on that team.
Ware and Edey have very similar stat lines.
Good description-best I’ve heard. He didn’t come from the mean streets but from a solid family so don’t know where it comes from. Memphis on the other hand has some really mean streets. I guess when some people have enough money they just don’t give a s##t. Suspend me fine-I really don’t give a s##t.Other than some Pacer games and GS when TJD was playing, I don't watch much NBA.
