Dan Wolken had an interesting article today: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...l-coaches-salary-revenue-sharing/82261127007/

It posits that what is attractive to a coaching candidate is how much NIL money will be available. There is a discussion about the uncertainty of how Indiana will divide NIL money between football and basketball. It also tracks hires thus far which seem to be cheaper moves designed to concentrate on NIL money because athletic departments will have less revenue starting next year (recall that IU has eliminated 20 jobs).

Really interesting article. Thanks for posting.

If true, it makes me think we're absolutely going to take a chance on another up and comer or rehab project rather than being to pry someone away.

In theory I certainly like the idea of revenue sharing versus allowing a completely unregulated booster system.

The hall hasn’t been rocking in a decade. I puked when I had to listen to every big ten coach say PU was the hardest place to play.

There is nothing close to the hall when at full throttle. That is not me being a homer. I’d wager that when Marco dunked against duke back in the 1800s it registered more noise than any arena in college basketball in the last 20 years. That fuucker was about to fall down.

Marco, the 1800s? Thankfully before my time. 😉

Yeah, I agree with you there. The wind down of the HfG collective leads me to believe that we're going to be fine as we're already down the road towards having a final plan.
