I meant oldest son. Does that make it a lot more interesting? I can see why you didn't get oldestson.Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Lonely is the Night fits too, and better song imo!
Why do we make fun of male bass players, yet there seems to be a lot sexy female bass players?
Some of you need .to learn what a riff is. It's basically a repeated melodic phrase within the rhythm and generally but not always used as a hook .. ..couple of slower Zep songs deserve a mention (as do several more rockers!):
- Over the Hills and Far Away -
- Hey Hey, What Can I do.
- She Talks to Angels - Black Crowes
- Black Magic Woman - Santana
- Black Betty - Ram Jam!
- Redemption Song - Bob Marley
- HM: Leaving Trunk - Taj Mahal (more the harmonica, but love that opening!)
Your argument is invalidated by the existence of Blues Traveler.
Smokeshow.....and those hips...Why do we make fun of male bass players, yet there seems to be a lot sexy female bass players?
STill better than the freeboardYou guys are just naming songs with guitar parts you like...
Where's the riff? The hook is a simple rhythm sequence played in simile with the vocals, Not a riff .. .. unless you want to count the three notes used as a fill after the vocal... but it's a simple dumb three note phrase and unworthy of the title of this thread. Plus that guy sucked ballz ..Lonely is the Night fits too, and better song imo!
Low bar ..STill better than the freeboard
Those old injuns would still kick Blues Traveler's ass.
I thought of that one too! There's a cover band out of Raleigh that does a passable version and I love it. Not many bar bands have a harmonica player.
Brothers Johnson , Strawletter 23
my AC/DC selection (don't think anyone's posted it yet)No way I could rank and come up with a Top 10, but here are some that I haven't seen mentioned yet that should be in the conversation
Number of the Beast - Maiden (Too many for just 1, but that's mine)
Working Man - Rush (There's probably 20+ others that I like just as much)
Here Comes the Sun - George H
Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Pride & Joy - SRV
Foxy Lady - Hendrix
Black Dog - Zep
No One Knows - Queens of the Stone age
Killing in the Name - Rage (Audioslave's version)
Crazy Train - Randy Rhodes and that Ozzy dude
