pelosi husband got beat up in his home

Well the attack that Paul suffered was 5 years ago. The other physician who attacked Paul got jail time but despite what the C-SPAN witness says it wasn't entirely about politics. The other doctor just didn't like Paul.

The attack was on Pelosi that was all about politics as confused as they were. Do I believe the attacker was a Republican-no.

If you want something more comparable was the shooting of Steve Scalise.
That's what you've been told. If you want to believe it, you're free to do so.

The attack on Pelosi had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the attacker being a nutjob.

I believe the Paul attack was driving by politics.

You know, now that you mention it, I’ve also read the whole thread and I haven’t seen YOU condemn this, or even offer a minimum thoughts and prayers.

Which you moaned about the conservatives on this board not doing.

Moron.
Maybe he got sidetracked arguing with the looney conservatives in the thread that were more worried about defending their party.

But you already charged him as a “far right lunatic”

Is it that or the green party? Or both?

Please tell us the deep knowledge you have of this guys influences based off second hand reports of his social media activity.

You are a complete hack.
Wait - you mean he's not a former Republican? lmao

They always use that excuse.

Try to do some critical thinking. Who passed the 1965 Social Security Act as part of The Great Society? A Democrat-controlled Congress and President Johnson.

then what followed…

I don’t need critical thinking to know that the point is still going right over your head. Still. My point was not about WHO did it but about it being done and the need for them now, and obviously much better run.

You just HAVE TO have this be the case. You NEED it.
I used to look forward to your posts. They were substantive and thought-provoking. This, though, is something I'd expect from danc or one of the other geniuses who liked it.

I "NEED" this? What the fvck are you talking about? I'm sickened by it. I wish to God it was the last time we'd see something like this. But there's more to come, thanks in part to QAnon, 4chan, Gab and other platforms where conspiracies, lies and hate speech are the order of the day.

We’re crazy people.
It is literally in my handle. I don't know how I could have made it any more clear.

I hope the old dude pulls through and we shouldn't be attacking political rivals like this (if that was the reason for the attack). No matter the reason, we have a mental health crisis in this country that is downright celebrated in some quarters.

More is coming out on what happened, the attacker had been there before. This is a consensual domestic violence case! Pauly P had a reputation of going to Gay Bars.

Even if it does come out that is the case...ok I guess?

80 year old dude gets hit in the head with hammer and a vast swath of the country holds their breath waiting to find out who it was and what that could mean to advancing a political narrative. Anybody denying that is a liar. And if the reason isn't juicy enough or doesn't advance enough of a narrative, the story disappears. If those who propagandize to us think it fits the right narrative, we'll hear about it for weeks.

We are all a product of the messaging we get. Some become outraged at what they are told to be outraged about and some are outraged that their outrages are memory holed. And then we turn the outrage on each other. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Why did the attacker need to break in if it was a gay encounter?

Did you see him break in? Did you ever watch Ray Donovan? Why are the Pelosi’s refusing to turnovers security camera footage? ?
Where are you getting this from Lucy that they are refusing to cooperate?

thanks, Maga, now we are going after the families of the people we hate. Trump is a lucy stain on Americans underwear, that will take a long time to wash off if ever.
Probably a Nancy set up. Get some of those sympathy votes. Did anyone other than the San Francisco politicos get to see the perpetuator's web site before they shut it down? Didn't think so, they shut it down before revealing his identity?

Sorry to let you down. I’m not into seeking virtue signaler’s approval.

My posts are still substantive but I am not getting into this nonsense of jumping into conclusions over who a guy who attacks someone votes for because it’s beneath me. It’s clearly not beneath you. Maybe you should calibrate yourself.

There is dangerous rhetoric on all sides that has led to violence. You don’t see it that way. So the hell with you.

There are people in this thread who are literally claiming it is disturbing that the boards conservatives aren’t specifically condemning this attack. It’s, pardon my language, absolutely ****ing ridiculous.

Why on earth would anyone assume that I don’t find this attack horrific? Why do I need to expressly condemn it it to appease anyone? It’s obviously awful. I shouldn’t have to literally type that out

Its ****ing ridiculous.

I’m tired of going the extra mile to confirm that I’m not the caricature that some people here think I am.

And to be clear, it goes the other way as well. I’m not solely blaming liberals.

Something is seriously broken with the political discourse in this country. I’m sick of it.

Yep...Paul attack ok
Pelosi attack evil.
None are okay.

One was personal and isolated (this dude wasn't leading a group to go out and beat the shit out of so called 'evil republicans').

It was still horrible behavior.

The other is part of riling up nutjobs who think they are fighting a made up cause via violence. Again inventing a cause out of lies.

It the same ordeal that gets armed, faceless 'patriots' 'guarding' drop boxes. They think they are part of some invented cause and they have to take it on themselves because everything is part of the deep state.

Jesus H

It gets you Jan 6th.

We haven't even gotten to election day yet. That's probably going to be a complete shit show.

A person is most dangerous when they believe they are part of a cause, especially a cause a grievance, because that can be justified in ones head.

That's what's ominous about this story.

Especially when it's met not with disgust but with attempts of diversion, conspiracy theories, both sides downplaying and an overall malaise.....that's really not good.

What frustrates people is seeing only one side. George Floyd and the BLM violence was no different. Violence predicated on a made up issue: disproportionate number of unarmed black killings. Just depends on the team you support.
And a genuine person knows both sides race to the board with hahas. Chicago murder rate through the roof! Maga attack. It’s all the same dance. Sad we can’t just meet in the middle and see it all for what it is. I bet we’d find mr Sorbo there waiting for us. Hell I wouldn’t be shocked to see mr lamas there too. We could use a renegade

You had nothing to say about the 18 year old run over by the guy blaming the kid for being a "republican extremist". It happened shortly after Biden's Maga speech. There was a whole thread about it and you didn't express any outrage. And that's fine. Can't expect you to see everything.

But don't come here and yell about MAGA, qanon, 4chan and blaming one side without acknowledging both sides have their crazies.

Jane's Revenge has been terrorizing churches and other pro-life centers. Both sides have fringe nutjobs and it needs to be denounced by everyone.

You're not a victim, just stop it.

In my post I stated that based on the attackers social media footprint, well he was basically aligned with Massuta who is definitely not a lib. He's an alt right extremist who is a massive Trump supporter (more a Michael Flynn idolist) who believes he is a 'patriot'.

That's been festering in the right for years.

So when one right wing nutjob goes out and violently attacks a prominent liberal...and it's met on here not with contrition but diversion, conspiracy and malaise?

Yeah you're not the victim. The libs are the real victim here.

I stated that there is a violent streak festering in the right and you said horseshit.

With no rebuttal.

I jab back with what's currently going on at drop boxes (and I bet will be going on at polls in a little over a week) and you go full victim.

I'm sorry man. You aren't the target of violence here. You're not the victim.

I just want the right to wake up.

Again very pleased with the response of Republican leaders.

I'm pretty disgusted by the response from the right on this board.

These are the “high ground Dems” to which I have referred in the past. They envision some imaginary moral and ethical high ground exists and they sit upon it. If you don’t use their language you are a low grounder.

It’s the game of the Stupids. And I’m not playing.

^^^^^and right on cue…..

You’re disgusted by the response of the right on this board because “the right” on this board is a caricature of your own devising.

I don’t need to specifically condemn this attack because reasonable people would already know what I think of it. They wouldn’t assume I tacitly support it.

When I speak of being tired of having to deny that I’m the caricature certain people make me out to be, it’s people like you who I’m referring to.

You’re no better than the Mas’s you rail against.

So, in the kindest way I know how to express it, you can **** right off.

Don't disagree, at all.

Summer of love was a reaction to an actual murder by someone who is paid to protect (and part of a terrible relationship for decades).

Alt right violence is based in conspiracy nonsense.

I've called out Bernie Boys (who I f#$king despise) for their rhetoric that leads to violence. It's one reason why it's hard for me to really hear Bernie because he has fosted 'revolution' and 'down with the corporate elites' and the whole 'defund the police'.

But Bernie doesn't have the power, yet. Trump, who is Bernie on massive steroids when it comes to fostering an adversarial environment, took over the Republican party. The party now embraces the crazy rhetoric.

But yes, we have it too and if the Bernie Bros take over the party you will see extreme demonstrations of violence based on grievance politics (think the movie Joker as a distorted example of the poor rising violently to eat the rich).
