I heard from my cousin’s friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend that Beard is beating Dolson's door down... I always thought Beard wanted to stay in the Texas area to be near his two grown daughters, but am mistaken.

News travels fast, I'm sure, in the college coaching circles. Dolson's statement indicated all this was known Wednesday. Wondering if it wasn't known before that...Beard's RMK comments, on the heels of beating UK, seem a little too "relevant".

There were some new thoughts...including the assistant coaches approach, that I haven't really ever considered. It would be shocking, but I guess if someone like Luke Murray ended up being the guy... ehhh... man, it'd still be tough to stomach. But I'm sure there are assistants out there that would be successful at IU. I just can't fathom Dolson going that way, right now.

I would think the consensus top two guys, that most have talked about...Stevens and Pearl...I would think he already knows where both of them stand. This is some SERIOUS reading between the lines on my part...but the fact that its all coming out right now...leads me to believe neither of them is the choice. If Dolson knew either of them were interested, and were "the guy", there's not a ton of incentive to push this whole thing and make it public now. Give Pearl some peace, and let him finish his Auburn season, hire him the day they finish. And we wouldn't announce Stevens until the end of the season, and Woodson had formally stepped down.

I think this announcement coming now means Dolson wanted the job opening out in the open, so he could commence searching more publicly. Tells me he likely doesn't have someone ID'd, that is likely to take it, yet.
