Ohio State Decision To Kick Final Field Goal

Not a bad strategy as long as the returner catches the ball and ends up taking it out of the endzone. The problem would be if time didn't run out then you have to kick from the twenty giving the opponent good field position.
I thought of this one. Instead of kicking the field goal on 4th down OSU runs a play. The QB is instructed to roll out, if anyone prsssures, go down and protect the ball. If You get outside the tackle box, throw the ball as high as You can toward the end line and into the stands. If You are outside the tackle box. they can't call Intentional Grounding. If the ball is between the sidelines and over the playing field, the Officials can't call the Play Dead until the ball lands in the stands. If You can throw the ball high enough and put enough arc on it, You could kill 7 or 8 seconds on the clock.

Might be close. I think kicking is correct. I think Ohio State played it smart.

What's the blocked extra point percentage, a couple percent? Or maybe more, taking into account ND won't care about risking a penalty? Then they either need to return it or score next play or two. I think them scoring in a couple plays from just turning the ball over is clearly higher than that parlay. Even including miss, then score.
