I HATED Duran. & Julio Cesar Chavez. I think Marvelous was the first guy I remember shaving his whole head bald. So many greats back then. Even guys like Alexis Arguello, Aaron Prior, “tier 2” guys were great fighters.

I think the best thing about YouTube is all the old fight footage. I could watch it for days on end.

Saw a clip of Tyson at some memorabilia show walking out shirtless. Looks olddddd. Lost a ton of muscle mass. Some guy commented. Mike looks old. Like my drunk uncle now. I hope the fight gets canceled. He has no chance with THE PROBLEM CHILD. As a GenXennial this is tough for me to watch.
Also saw Zuckerberg hanging with ufc fighters again. It’s painful to watch it’s so fing awkward but good for him trying. He even comments under the posts with the fighters repeatedly. And of course all his posts are followed by mean posts directed his way. Has everything but maybe not as easy of a life as you think

i watched ALL of the great fights. first with my dad in the ali shavers years and then with high school buds during the tyson years. boxing has NEVER been better than today and what THE PROBLEM CHILD is doing for it. i like celebrities mashup fights.
I’m watching the Muhammad Ali series on PBS. It’s excellent. Those were great years for boxing.
You know what is crazy. Both Tyson and Ali had their pause at like 25. Both lost a big portion of their prime
No doubt. Last night was the post pause Ali. He clearly wasn’t the same fighter. He won a lot more fights, but he had to learn new ways to do it. He showed some flashes of the old Ali in the second Frazier fight, but it took tremendous conditioning to be able to even flash those skills.
Sad. He almost missed from 25-29 didn’t he? When your strength conditioning and experience peak.
I was listening to local radio and Bob costas was on. He lived here forever. I’m going to butcher this but he was asked something like what athlete made the greatest impression on you or presence left you in awe or something. Remember there’s no one bob hasnt met and nothing he hasn’t covered. He said he once saw Ali on a street corner (on the way to something) and even seeing him from a distance gave him goosebumps and left an impression like no other athlete or person

friend is representing some former UFC fighter who now owns a few training facilities. This fighter has met Tyson and all the big names in the fighting world and says Paul will win. Says he has the best trainer in the world and that guy wouldn’t be screwing around with a novelty act. Also said the age difference is just too much to overcome.
