The media are killing me today. They’ve been gaslighting us about how bad Biden has been. I’ve flipped through the various media today. The same ones talking about deepfakes are now acting shocked.

The NYT and WaPo editorial boards are, after the major labor unions, probably the biggest bellwethers of the Dem power structure outside the DNC/political leadership itself. Editorials from those papers (their boards, not from individual columnists) suggesting Biden should drop out would be evidence that it’s moved beyond political chatter to a live effort within the party
FIFY. That is the question all of them should be asking. If they simply answer this one little HUGE question, they will join with MAGA that DC is totally broken and they have been totally used, controlled, subverted just like the ignorant dupes that DC makes sure that they are.

Whitmer is risk/reward. There’s obvious Karen downside, and people like Scott Walker and Amy Kloubachar are cautionary tales of Midwesterners not being good fits on the national presidential stage. But the ability to win big in Michigan as a pretty strident liberal can’t be ignored

That episode felt strange to me. I just watched two, it felt more normal - family fighting.

Asked how he’d keep Social Security solvent, his answer was that wealthy people need to “pay their fair share.”
Now, in any context, this stock line is populist claptrap. It’s just a rabble-rousing way to say “those rich, greedy bastards need to pay more.”
But it’s particularly egregious in this context. Typically, the flaw in the line is that this amount is undefined (try asking somebody how much “fair share” is and you’ll see what I mean). But the Social Security benefits a person is entitled to are a direct function of the OASDI taxes they have paid.
As such, by definition, every single one of us already pays our “fair share” of Social Security taxes.
Yeah, a guy who makes $20M of income only pays the OASDI tax on the first ~$170k of it (Medicare tax, on the other hand, is assessed on all of it). But his benefit schedule is no different than somebody who makes exactly $170k per year.
Stuff like this is one of the reasons I’ve become so cynical about politics. Even when pols are ostensibly dealing in substance (as opposed to, say, golf handicaps and porn stars), they’re so disingenuous….it’s nauseating.

Biden is working on making illegal immigration 100% illegal. Right now it's 40% illegal. Or something like that, as he said in the debate. So a VP who is helping make illegal immigration, double secret illegal, has got to be OK.

I feel sorry for anyone who thought Biden was competent in 2020 and thought Harris was a good option to take over. It was obvious to most sane and unbiased people that Biden/Harris was a terrible choice.

I'm up to episode 6. I asked my wife if this is normal she said no and thats what I remembered they used to make you wait each week for the next episode. They released the entire season Thursday night all 10 episodes of season 3. Pretty crazy! I've enjoyed these they are really diving deep it's pretty cool.
