I agree that Shapiro would be a formidable candidate for the Dems. But I'm not nearly as sure as you are that JD Vance would be for Republicans -- and I say that as somebody who has a better opinion of Vance now than I used to.

Turns out that Trump never consulted either Rubio or Hegseth before his insane announcement earlier this week. They were completely blindsided. Trump's aides have been left with the unpleasant task of walking back the insanity and devoting time and resources to cleaning up Trump's mess. Sad.
