The next time a liberal tells you "GOP-appointed SCOTUS justices are a threat to democracy - they do the will of the GOP", grab them by the arm and take them to a psychiatric hospital to be de-programmed. They are a cult member who needs your help.
I agree with that decision. I think judicial review is an inherent part of separation of powers and checks and balances.
Of course the courts must stay in their lane and review only those issues within their scope. The judges must resist the temptation to act as a super legislative body.
I do too. But our friends across the aisle continue to lie for votes and claim (example) that the court must be expanded because GOP-appointed justices ignore the law and rule only in a pro-GOP manner. Their deluded puppets across the land and internet accept and parrot that lie despite case after case after case proving otherwise.
A NON-political judiciary is a check and balance protecting democracy.
Republicans have much more to bitch about when it comes to SCOTUS than Dems. Justices are considered conservative, liberal, or swing (moderate). How many conservative or swing justices were put on the court by a Democrat President the past 50 years? Stevens and Souter, both liberal, were appointed by a Republican. O’Connor, Kennedy, Roberts, and now Kavanaugh and ACB were appointed by a Republican.
Dems are just much more cultist and do whatever the mob wants regardless of their beliefs.
It’s exactly why Trump was able to beat out all the RINOs and become the face of the Republican Party. Because Republican politicians rarely ever do what their voters want. Democratic politicians always do what their voters want.
