Nick Dorn on campus

Needs some size, we are all guards currently minus Bailey
We're getting to that point, I'd say. But hypothetically, if CDD is only looking for a 2-3 more bigs, should he be at the point yet where he stops recruiting impactful players at the 1-4 positions? Don't know the answer to that?

Is this guy impactful? Guard and wing depth looks really solid so far. Needs some 4’s and 5’s

Any relation to Roger Dorn😆. This guy will only be good for posting some gifs!

Having 2 years left doesn’t mean that much anymore, everyone is a free agent at the end of the year.

Having two years of eligibility left matters more for us than it does for lower-tier programs. When you're one of just 10 schools with a $12 million NIL and revenue-sharing budget, the risk of losing players to the transfer portal is lower, though not completely gone.

Baily to me sounds more like a wing. What impressed me in his highlight video was how he put the ball on the floor and wasn't known as a strong post defender. If we don't sign 3 more post players/defenders, it looks like an unbalanced roster to me and one that could be upended by an injury. Coming off a year in that he just had upended by injuries, just seems odd to me.

I understand your concern, but if we can get a guy like this for 2 years, it may help avoid another complete rebuild next year.

His dad and brother both attended UNC, and he visited there, as well as Maryland.

IF he came here, that would be 9. The last 3 could be Curtis + 2 one-year bigs. Leave 1 'ship open for now.

If he finds a very good one to fit with the others, no problem. But have to start getting big visitors and some interests from them in IU. Sooner than later. I think IU gets 2 decent bigs that for shot blocker/rebounder roles. The fireworks is gonna come from outside. Won't see many zones after these knock some down. If they play how I think they can. Finishers at drives and layups are gonna be vastly improved with3 point shooting.

Putting a team together this way is hard. I forget who, but I heard someone say it's not like a fantasy draft where you take your highest rated player first, you have to take who's available, and interested in your school, at the time. Curtis sounds great, especially if we can get a couple experienced guys who can play immediately and he could be counted on for spot minutes to start.

There have been bigs in to visit. This staff runs a tight ship

A wing that scores 70% of his baskets ATR? He's a modern skilled big. Plays facing the basket, mobile, has handle, vision, and shooting ability. He's as a much of wing as Wolfe was. Which means he's not a wing.
Agree with your description, but my point is he'll be on the perimeter offensively... ie the wing, much like Wolf was. Hopefully he can guard in the post, as that sounds like his achilles heel at the moment. Loved what Wolf added to UM, and hoping for similar effects with Bailey. Thought I'd heard you say there are basically 3 positions now: PG/Lead guard, wings and posts. With where he's likely to play offensively, of those 3 positions, I'd classify him as a wing. I haven't looked it up, but I'd guess our projected starting PG scored closed to 70% of his FGs at the rim.
